QuoteTrying to find the part numbers for everything needed to convert the 2400KT to a P-rod trigger/grip frame. If anyone has a link I'd appreciate it!

Cobalt,

I imagine that you know some of this, but for anyone that hasn't done it yet here is some info on ordering from Crosman and converting to that trigger.

I have done a couple 3 of these conversions (a 2300KT, a 2240, and a 2250) and other than the P-rod trigger group (part # 2220-103) these are the only parts I needed:

$6.59    Crosman Striker   1763A036
$17.28    Crosman Hammer   CH2009A009

No Link needed but if you want to see the EVP, here it is:
https://support.crosman.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/201592430/BP2220-EVP___PL.pdf

Just call customer support @ 1-800-724-7486
and ask to place an order.  Give them the part numbers and the shipping is $4 for the whole order.

I had to grind a slot in the hammer for my 2300KT because it has the new front breech screw position (rearwards under the bolt).  I duplicated the slot in the old hammer.  You may want to pick up some of those 4-48, .050 breech screws too, part # 1322b027.

Great trigger!

Many Blessings,

Decided to keep the 24 inch barrel uncut for the forseeable future so I ordered the OEM front sight made for the 2240 et all.
Simple snap on fit nothing out of the ordinary.
Had to raise my rear sight a bit but otherwise nothing special.

I did ream out the peep sight just a RCH. Before reaming my sight picture had a sort of hourglass like distortion in some lighting conditions. I guess the aperture was out of the round.

Used the smallest bit that wouldn't pass through the aperture then turned it only using my fingers, the amount removed was infinitesimal.
Aiming is no a bit easier and quicker.

@JEBert  Thank you taking the time to post that info. Much appreciated!

The problematic sound muzzle brake on my new Norica Black Eagle had to go. I really don't get why a springer would have these things anyway, since it's not shooting supersonic, and the bulk of the noise comes from the spring. The barrel was pretty dirty, yet every time I ran a patch through the barrel the patch would get entangled in the baffling. I had to tie, with thread, the patch to the jag, push it through the barrel, remove the jag so I could pull the rod back through the bore, tie on another patch... . I sent a message to Norica asking how the muzzle brake was attached (heat), and how I might remove it (break it). In the labor intensive process of doing so I gained a, not very loving, respect for the toughness of the plastic the thing was made of. And, yes, there was the predictable amount of blood involved, along with some choice words. I had a steel muzzle brake which I J-B Welded in place, shortening the overall length of the gun about 4". Here are before and after shots. Can't see it, but in the lower pic the barrel is much cleaner - what a PITA! I also changed the scope to a 6X Bugbuster, my preferred magnification for target shooting. RC

I found that with the 24" barrel my rifle is about as quiet as one would wish and velocity and  sight radius are excellent.
I'd rather have the advantages of a longer barrel than to use a muzzle attachment that would give the same or longer OAL without the benefits of the longer barrel.

Only time a muzzle attachment would be of use to me would be if it was detachable and the barrel was to be kept short for convenience in storage or transport.
When the design calls for a short barrel then the attachment can overcome the disadvantages of a short barrel.

Some short barrels will outshoot a longer barrel. Longer doesn't always mean better......unless your name is Trump, but you need big hands too! ;-)

sorry, couldn't resist..............

What you see in the comparison pics is how much the muzzle brake added to the length of the gun, while the bottom pic shows, within 3/8", how long the barrel actually is, and you're right, length doesn't matter if it's a good barrel, and this one is in spades.  If the proverbial proof is in the pudding, the pudding here is 20 shots at 8m rested.  RC

You're doing a fine job.  Is the grub screw on the trigger guard to limit over travel?  RC

The beginning of the process.........

.177 Stock Disco except for;
  All new o-rings inside
  Double Barrel Bands
  M-rod Trigger Assembly with Shim
  Hawke 4-16x50 Map Pro Scope
  Boyd's Custom Stock

  To Come:
SteveNC Free Flight Hammer Debounce Thing-a-ma-jig....maybe, I already have it, but I'm happy with 45 shots?
  Trigger Guard (have an idea)
  New High Rings
Robert Lane Regulator from over the pond

Finally got the m-rod trigger assembly installed. I had to make a new fitting and spacer for the stock to fit properly. Installed the 2nd barrel band. Lost the stock rear site tube and site. Got the scope re-mounted and was only off 7 inches to the right!! Will need to address this with a new set of rings in the near future as I used up most of my windage travel to get me on target.

My back has been giving me fits again lately, but I could not stand to wait any longer, so after watching the Gators loose to SC :-( I grabbed the rifle and headed downstairs. It took me a while to get from 1K up to 2K on the gun's gauge, but I did it.

Truthfully, I was expecting about 20-25 shots because that was all I was getting before the new orings were installed. I got 45 good shots and the gauge is still only at 1200 psi. I think I could have pushed it to 50 shots and still maintained 1K. The PA seems to be adjusted right, but I did no chrony work this time. It seems to be hitting pretty hard and I dinged the crap out of the spinners on the last 3-4 shots. When you compare the dings to
what the Fusion was doing at 700 fps, I figure that I am still in the high 700's by shot 45. I just wanted to see how she would shoot and it did leave me smiling. I'm thinking this is a good starting point for some fine tuning!

Accuracy at 10 meters is not a problem. All of the groups except #7 can be easily covered with a dime and #7 just misses the mark because of my 2 crappy shots. Like the Fusion, I need to strech it out next time around. For now, some Advil and a heating pad ;-)
