i'll try and do some tests at weekend i'll have to rob a couple of bits back of my gauntlet build though
i'll try and get a comparison on standard hammer ,solid hammer ,solid hammer with the rear cocker and again with flats on the hammer will also try with a heavy hammer spring
when i made the hammer i made it 18.8mm instead of 18.7mm but its still a fairly slack fit

Looking forward to that  :)

I opened up one of my 2240 tubes so I can attach a thermocouple to the valve tip and the neck of the CO2 cartridge so I can do some temperature measurements.  This all in the name of investigative science and curiosity.

Did you use a Dremel or did you clamp it in a mill vise to get those cuts?   ;)

I clamped it in my mill vise and then cut through both tubes from one side and then cut an extra 0.10" on each end.  It came out okay but I may go back and open up the hole to 0.5" for a little more working room.

I just modded my Crosman M4177 trigger. You have to take out 17 screws just to get to it! While I did find a useful youtube video on how to dismantle the assembly, thus far I haven't seen any information on how to lighten the trigger pull. Fortunately I have a working knowledge of airgun trigger mods so I was able to figure out a way to lighten up the trigger pull by bending a tine on the trigger spring. It's so much better now.

Hey Agninja:

Here's a video I did a while back on the M417 trigger. Hope it helps.

Dang it! I knew there was a video on it but I couldn't find it because you have it tagged as M417 instead of M4177. (I realize that Crosman later changed the name of the gun). I'm glad I posted about this. Thanks for the video!
