thats a rare thing you've got there ed (i think they stopped making them in the eighties when mr mcgquire retired)
never really cast pellets but do make a lot of fishing leads and jig heads and i've found that the first couple are not very good due to the mould not being up to temp, after that the're usually ok
how hot are you getting your lead?
i seem to recall that these lead moulds were hard to use and the pellet was only suitable for rifles in excess of 12fpe due to there weight, hope you get the hang of it ed as they'll go well in that monster .25 you've got
ped
im heating the lead up to medium high heat.thats what the instructions say to use.it also says try different temps find the temp it works best with
from the reading i have done the spitzer pellet it makes didnt do to well in sub 12ftlbs guns but my gun is spitting 50gn bullets at over 800fps so the lighter 32gn pellet this mould makes should be closer to 900fps. the 42gn pellets i shoot are running 869fps thats with a 2400psi fill.i use a 3000psi fill havent chronied it yet,not much time for that
luckily i got over 5lbs of lead to play with since its old premium pellets im melting down i can say its premium pellets i am making ;)
i can get as much lead i can carry for free, its going to be fun making these pellets.i am also looking to get some more moulds for heavier bullets wouldnt mind finding a hollow tip mould i have seen .25acp moulds which is what size my barrel is.just dont know which to get,yet
closed mouths dont get fed

Is that what you guys do with your used pellets??  I've got a couple cat food cans full, and I dont know what to do with them.  I was thinking fishing weights, but I dont fish much anymore

If this works like the guy's on youtube's pellet maker you couldn't possibly be able to afford 250 pellets. So labor intensive to make pellets one at a time. Great for the perfectionest at home, bad for someone trying to make a few bucks  ;)

was hoping he would ship out by friday  :-*

yeah, its fun!! and a learning experience. these pellets are 31gn maybe 32gn and too light for my gun getting the right sized pellet from a custom pellet maker is very expensive.now i am looking at 2 and 4 bullet molds 42gn/50gn, the 50gn bullets shoot at the velocity i want
in the long run it will be best to mold my own bullet and pellets for the .25 since the available pellets are to light

Nicely done! I like your choice of mounting position of the SP-1. I do see, in my crystal ball, a TKO carbon fiber 5" muzzle brake in your future.

Put a couple of thick paper shims under the back mount of the scope on my 2400 KT. I wasn't really trying but the first group was inside a nickle   :-*

I'll get out some more tomorrow but that might be a mistake. Today it's almost 60*, who knows what tomorrow might be  :P
