I've been playing around with the Crosman PCPs a little bit. As most of you know the Prod, 1701, and 1720 all have interchangeable parts. Even the MRod trigger group can be used on the Prod tube.   I've bought various spare parts from Josh Perrin and Crosman over the past few weeks. The first result is my modified 1701. It has a woods walker shroud, a TP off the 1720 for more power and a longer LW barrel also off a 1720. It is now much quieter, excellent LW accuracy still, and virtually no difference in balance or weight because I'm not using the dummy brake that came with the 1701.   The camo shroud almost matches the green and black laminate RB grips on this Franken-PCP, even, lol.

Nice pistol!! Thanks for the information about part interchangeability. What fill pressure do you use and how many shots before refill time?

Excellent work, I have to agree with using the longer bbl and shroud....better performance and looks good too

Just finished a 2240 out of mostly leftover parts from other builds.  The tube and barrel came from my original 2240 that evolved into a 2250 with 10" barrel.  The grip and trigger assembly came from my 2300KT that now mounts a P-Rod trigger.  The valve came from my 2400KT that now has a Boss valve for more power.  I added a Crosman short steel breech which I think looks right in proportion to the 7" barrel, an LPA rear sight, and front sight from a 760.  The trigger and sear are stock but the spring is the adjustable one off the 2300KT.  Last, but not least I threw in a black trigger shoe and replaced the black grip and frame screws with ss.  I'll shoot it tomorrow and see how it groups.

Nice shooter, Ed. After a while and extra parts, it is hard to decide what to call the darn gun. I guess if it has a 2240 tube, that is the best designation for it.

Thanks, and I agree the best naming convention is to go with what's stamped on the tube.
