I need to finished carving a .3 ledge in the bottom of a 2100 valve to see if  will fire and not hit the back of the bolt (it willl).  I wanted inspiration so I carved a 1377 barrel band to fit the 2100 tube and stuck a drill bit through it just so I could see a near fireable 1377XLT carbine.

Need to make a 130 or so breech shim...

Ever wonder what something like the would do with .3 headspace.

I just might find out while waiting for parts...

I get so amazed at the stuff that WE come up with on here!  We all have to much time on our hands!! I don't think that any of our minds ever shut down and rest! We are always looking for something to make or to do to our Air Guns and share it with all the Bros. on CAPOF!!   Great People Here :-* :-*

;D Exactly. I've been going back to the guns I have to see what else I can do. There's always something to try :-*

Hi Mudduck,

I believe you have refurbished a couple of 1300s. May I ask what kind of velocity you are getting from your refreshed 1300 and what kind of mod you have done to it?

mudduck48

Yes, I have refurbished two 1300 pistols. But, I have yet to put them over my chrony. The only real mod. that I have done, is put one of Davio's pump arm pins in them. The stock roll pin kept moving to the left, his pin solved the problem. I have also done a trigger job. That's about it. Do you have one that you are going to refurbish? If you are THE FIRST THING YOU WANT TO DO IS, REMOVE THE REAR SIGHT SCREW!!!! If you don't you will break the sight screw off in the lower, rear grip frame screw. I know, because that is what I did. If you have any more questions on how to fix these guns, just PM me.

I am thinking of getting one and wondering if a 1300 would outperform a 1322 with everything being stock in a healthy working condition and with no power mod. The 1300, being a bit shorter and with the old style grip, is more eye appealing to me than the 1322. The fact that the 1300 came with a flat-top, I wonder if it is a more hard hitter than the 1322.  I also note that you were looking for 1300s either working or not. That's what prompted my inquiry. Thanks for the heads up on the rear retaining screw though. It's nice to know.

One more question, you mind telling us where did you get the slotted 4-48 ss breech screw?

mudduck48

#2558
I bought 100 of them from Industrial Bolt here in Ventura, Ca. You have to measure the diameter of the stock screw then I put the SS screw in my cordless drill and sand off about 20 to 30 thou. to make it fit in the hole where the old screw went. Then I sand off a little off the top to make it flat.
In answer to the other question, the 1322 is harder hitting, stock than the 1300. Different valve and a longer barrel in the 1322. If you want a real fun plinker and a target gun, get a 1300 Medalist II. If you want to kill, get a 1322. IMO.
And the wood grips, I made them.
We need to keep going and have fun doing it.

I have found a hardware store where they have a small container full of 4-40 ss screws that they cannot sell. The owner told me I could pick a few for no charge. The threads seem to work quick nicely when I screw one into the pump tube except that the head is just a tiny bit too large. I will have to grind off a bit from the head to make it sit flat inside the breech.

Got a bench top drill press for Christmas this past year and was itchin' to come up with a project ;). While casually reading thru some posts, saw one that was discussing replacement of the pump arm pivot pin. I recalled seeing someone's post on making them, so it was "game on".
I decided to use brass. So I picked up a 12" piece of 3/16" rod at The Hardware Store (really, that's its name :-*). The post I saw used O-rings that fit into grooves cut near the ends of the pin to prevent excess movement. I'm not sure just how securely the pivot pin needs to beheld to keep it in place but I'm guessing that I won't take much. I know that some folks use E/C clips and others thread the ends of the pin and secure it with nuts. (Maybe on my next one).
Other than the generalized idea, I was kinda making things up as I went along. (I'm sure the machinists out there are cringing)  :o. Since I knew the pump tube was ~3/4" and I guessed at having ~3/16" beyond on each side, I cut a 1 & 1/8" piece of the rod to work with.
Using the "poor man's lathe" technique, I trued the cut end of the rod and beveled both ends with a flat file. Then using a round file, I placed a shallow groove ~3/32" in from the end.

The O-rings 1/4" O.D. x 1/8" I.D. (x sect 1/16") fit snuggly and will hopefully do the job.

I don't think that I'll be going into production with these as I'm sure that the bearings on the drill press weren't made to handle the lateral pressure. Might do things a bit differently if I make any more. We'll see. Flex

KO,
You mind posting a pic of your modified 2100 valve when it's done? I don't quite get it when you said to notch .3" at the exhaust half of the valve.
