Good job Craig.  And nice that it is portable.

Thanks all!    :)

Rich,

Many, many ways to build a bench; I might consider some sort of masonry for a really permanent one, although I don't particularly like that look.

I built a shooting bench to replace the former arrangement which would charitably be described as slightly better than offhand.  The goal was to be rigid but also light as it has to be easily moved.  The top is 2' x 3' 3/4" plywood.  Since it will be used on a slight incline, a 1/4" x 1 3/8" trim piece was added to the front and side edges to preclude the inevitable.  It's not obvious in the photo, but the rear leg of the tripod is not on the outboard edge, but centered on the 12" wide rear section.  Wheels will be added later so it can be rolled into the shed.   (I am always surprised by camera lens distortion, that rear leg has more than twice the outward angle of the front legs)
I love that !  :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Inspired by the what's in your UPS truck thread....here's another question...
What work did you just do to one or your Crosmans?
Today I'm going to "bedliner" some plastic grips and see what I can do to make em stop shifting on a frame.

I took the left side plastic grip off my stock 2240 and filed the top of it where it was rubbing the joint next to my hand.  It fits better now.
The right side grip moves a little when it is pushed.  It's not moving enough to bother me yet.
Also filed a little off the bottom of the trigger to round the corner.  It is a little better now.

One thing that has always irritated the area between my thumb and index finger of my shooting hand is the sharp edge on the rear of the trigger frame.  So I finally decided to do something about it and using my trusty Dremel and some various grade sanding drums I smoothed out that irritant.  Looks great when painted and now it's smooth and doesn't give me any irritation.
