Taking the "Hollow" out of the standard grips while Multi-tasking

I'm making a toy box for one of my three grandbaby girls' Christmas.  Special request so it has to be done.  It's nice to be needed. ;)  So while waiting for the first pink coat of paint to dry on the "L" (her name is Loghan), I mixed up some epoxy resin and level filled the insides of a left and right standard Crosman grips.

No big deal, but it is heavier and it feels more like some solid grips.  I came close to just packing some duct seal into them (or even some epoxy putty I have), but this was quicker and more permanent I'm sure.

Silence is golden. Duct Tape is silver. Gravy is brown.

just kidding!
looking at davio's grip job looks like he's casting grips.a little pam sprayed into the grip before epoxy applied once hardened it will come right out in the shape of the grip. ;)

In addition to this, I'd like a way to make the grips fit more snug and not shift.

That's kind of been my frustration with the stock grips.  I have even tried embarking on making my own but realized the bottom needs to be routed for the frame cutout.

The next pistol I order will be via the custom shop with wood grips.

That sounds like a plan, but in case you don't know:  The Custom Shop grips ARE actual RB grips and Crosman price is higher than just ordering from RB grips site.  If you just order the CCS pistol with std. grips, then order the wood grips from RB... you'll have both and for less $.

Hmmm that's a good point.  I didn't know RB supplied the wood grips to Crosman.  It's only a $7 difference for the walnut target grips but I would have an extra set of plastic ones.

I was looking some shelves at work the other day they are plexiglass or something like that and was thinking they would make some unique grips hmmmm.

It is also surprising what back-painting acrylic, glass, or anything clear does to the piece.  I have a subwoofer mounted onto a 1/2" thick piece of clear acrylic that was painted black on the bottom side.  Even standing there looking at it you'd swear the top was painted.  I bet clear grps on a nicely coated frame of any color would show out all on its own very nicely.  We'll see about that.  ;)
