I have a 1377 with a steel breech and a 12" barrel. I'm hoping to add a 5" or 6.5" TKO (doofer?) to it and I'm trying to figure out the overall length for a case for it.
Does anyone know if the 5" and 6.5" each slide on the same distance? Either way, how far do they slide on?

The TKO Discovery Muzzle Brake Installation -
Crosman 22xx Rifles and Pistols
Be sure the gun is unloaded.

Remove the front sight from the barrel. You can use a wood dowel to tap it off.
Slip the TKO Muzzle Brake onto the barrel (try to avoid "twisting" the brake on) until the set-screws are 1/4" behind the muzzle of the barrel.
Lightly tighten the set screws, alternating each screw until just snug. The set screws have a cupped end that will "bite" into the barrel. Your front site will cover any marks if you remove the brake and replace the sights.
Test the gun to be sure there isn't any pellet clipping. If the brake is clipping pellets, loosen the set-screws and rotate the brake 1/4 turn and re-tighten screws, then re-test.

That should let you figure out the total length.

Thanks, but how far back are the set screws? I haven't bought one yet.

The TKO recesses @ 1-1/4" over the barrel.

When planning a case, add 15%-20% to the dimensions to account for crazy things you may do in the future. A good source for DIY cases are wine crates. If you have a wine shop near you, see if they sell off the empty crates.

It's just a series of special lead sucking washers and spacers.  The lead dust swirls around and gets caught before exiting the barrel.

Not yet. I'm hoping to get it for Xmas from my wife.
I was hoping to get the case first so I could lay the in and see if I can angle it a bit to make a 6.5" TKO fit before settling for a 5.5".
It was back-ordered until Nov. 30th at first and now moved back to Dec. 15.   >:(
