I got the go ahead from my wife to order a TKO for Xmas.
According to these instructions from their site and the picture below from Davio (1/4" plus 1/2") would make a 6.5" TKO stick 5-3/4" past the muzzle. That would just BARELY fit in the new case that arrived today.  Should I get the biggest that will fit or would a 5-1/2" be close enough to the 6-1/2" in quietness? Did I figure the measurements correctly?

Be sure the gun is unloaded.

Remove the front sight from the barrel. You can use a wood dowel to tap it off.
Slip the TKO Muzzle Brake onto the barrel (try to avoid "twisting" the brake on) until the set-screws are 1/4" behind the muzzle of the barrel.

That should let you figure out the total length.

both imo would lower the report abot the same not noticable by the human ear
go with the shorter one
im going to post a link to a thread i read last night and i can say my 4"x3/4"od muzzle brake with my own internals was so quiet all you could hear was the hammer releasing the buzz of the pallet through the air and the impact of the pellet.no report from the air could be heard out of my 14" barreled .22 1377

I emailed Mike at TKO and he got back to me in less than an hour. I was shocked.   :D
He said a 5" is about 15% less effective than the 6.5".

Hmmmm.. what to do...
Man, for what ever reason, I just can't decide. A 6.5" would be very tight in the case, but the extra effectiveness would be nice to have. The 5" would be all around more convenient.

Get the 5" Tater. The gun will fit in the case you bought and you'll be happy for it  :-*

Thanks guys. Ordering a 5 right now. I was kinda leaning toward that one anyways and some reliable recommendations helped.   :-*

Edit: I just ordered the 5". Thanks for all the help everyone.

And I just bet the 6.5" is less effective than an 8".  I would get the five, too.
Silence is golden. Duct Tape is silver. Gravy is brown.
