Looking through ammo at Crosman, I see that they are coming out with a .22 caliber bullet that weighs 18.4 grains. Could this be used in the 2240 or is it designed more for a PCP air gun? There is very little info on this bullet/pellet other than the weight.

its designed for pcp
you could use it in your 2240 but you could probably throw it faster

I use 18.2 grain  pellets in my 22xx guns so I can't see why not.

Everyone is right... well sorta...

It's not just similar weights, it's the pellet design. What (I think) Mike is quoting is a diabolo shape (wasp waisted) pellet and the one that you posted a pic of is a more conventional bullet shape with gas check rings and a polymer tip etc. The diabolo shape imparts stability and balance at lower fps and pressures like conventional airguns produce (2240's and 13XXs).

That bullet shaped "pellet" is made for high pressure airguns that can push the bullet at 820+ fps. Like an Air Force or Benjamin type rifle.

PS that bullet looks very similar to the Benjamin Rogue .357 caliber made by Nosler bullets, probably is made by them too
