i've got a 1377 and on 10 pumps it's a little louder than i'd like ... but no neighbors have complained . i've long wanted a CCS Co2 pistol but , i went with the the pumper due to spl concerns and temp issues with Co2 here in the winter . FWIU the 2240 pistol is pretty loud , and FWIU longer barrels both increase velocity and reduce SPL .... so my question is .... how will a stock CCS 2300KT (2240 with long steel breech , 24 inch barrel and shoulder stock in .22) compare SLP wise to the stock .177 1377 on 10 pumps ? i generally just use 4 or 5 pumps and find it quiet enough for my liking . and since my neighbors haven't commented i'm guessing it just sounds louder on 10 pumps to me because i'm so close to it and shooting next to the side of the house . some days i don't mind the pumping , but some days i do . i'm thinking Co2 in .22 will be nice for my lazy days and be better for getting rid of some birds that kept getting into my tomatoes last year . also the barrel , breech , bolt and stock will fit perfectly on my 1377 to convert it to a higher fps/fpe gun and see if i want to keep it one way or the other or just swap parts back and forth as the mood hits me . i'll also order the backpacker forearm for my 1377 while i'm at it do to comments about how much nicer it feels when pumping . i figure if worse comes to worse that i could keep the above mentioned parts on the 1377 making it a scope-able .22 rifle giving me a quieter and longer/harder shooting gun to boot ...... and come away cheaper than just getting those parts separately to convert my 1377 .

i want the higher FPS so i can have a longer/flatter trajectory for 40 yards , maybe 50ish yards with some holdover .

any how , do y'all thing i have a good plan with reasonable expectations ? i should i go another route ?
i know the TKO is a option , but in the event something unexpected happens and some anal/over-reactive person get's involved the idea of the possible crap-storm makes me wary of that route ..... but the look cool and i'd love to have one . mayby i have a split personality when it comes to the TKS's . LOL

the co2 gun is still loud with a 24" barrel but the 1322 is much quieter with the 24" barrel
its pretty easy to tame and can be done for less than $10 unless you are looking for looks over function

Never really compared the SPL of a 1377 vs. 22xx.

TKO is a very good choice to tame the bark on Crosman pistols. I have two of them and they are remarkably effective.

40 and 50 yards is probably the absolute maximum you would want to shoot these guns in carbine configuration. The more useful range for power and accuracy is probably up to 30 yards. These guns were really not designed for intermediate distance shooting.

Flatness of trajectory is a combination of velocity, pellet shape, ballistic coefficient, pellet weight and other factors. If you want to model trajectory and point blank ranges download Charigun Pro from Hawke. The app is free and may be useful to you.

If the LDC is questionable, then you can consider a riser block for your breech and then shroud the entire barrel extended out 6" past the muzzle. No one would be the wiser  :-*
