Now I am thinking about canceling my order and going to Walmart.... It's out of stock still, my guess is they will not have any more at that price  ???

SquallyWally said... [I too would have sent this back if it were not for the price and the fact that this will not remain in stock form.
HOWEVER, that is not an excuse for them to start making them shoddy and offering them at discount prices.

I think you may have hit on it Wally (i.e. if it's too good to be true it prob is?)

There may have been some major returns fronm S/N xxxxxx to xxxxxx01 or some mfg dates and... Crosman culled out the remaining guns (unsold ones) and wholesaled e'm off to Amazon or whomever for $20 each, and Amazon marked e'm up a their usual 100% for $39.99?

I don't think the (few) sales at Walmart were similar quality issues, as my PC77 for $40-ish has some of the best fit and finish I have seen on these guns. Then again, maybe it was one of the first 1377's to get built after someone at Cros kicked someone in the Chinese factory in the nads over quality issues?

X2!  Hang onto them.  If you don't find a gun to build with them, you will be modding a gun in the future and think "Hey, I've got the perfect _________ (fill in the blank) for this mod."  Either that, or you will read on here about someone needing just the right part for a mod and you will be able to sell it or give it  to them and make his/her day (or whole week/month) better.

Well I got permission to open my friends 1377 that came with the same order as mine and it is a nice one.
It's build quality is perfect. Night and day difference.

This was the first crosman in my many years of shooting I have bought that had issues so I will forgive them.

I got my 1377 about a week ago and just finally opened it and fired it yesterday. Mine looks just fine and functions very well. The trigger is also just fine. For those of you that think these have a bad trigger, try shooting a Crosman 1077. You will no longer say anything negative about the 1377 (if most are like mine). And yet the 1077 has a large following and I get some great groups from mine despite that trigger.
My 1377 loves the Crosman Premier wadcutters. Most of my pellet guns don't like that pellet much. The 1377 also likes RWS Hobbys, which I almost always gave very good results with. I shot the gun from a bench at about 20 feet and got several 3-5 shot groups at about 1/4" and some larger of course. Not bad for my crappy eyesight and using open sights. I used either 3 or 5 pumps. The gun shot perfect as far as windage and shot maybe an inch above the aiming point. Since I use a 6:00 hold that got me dead center into the bullseye. No sight adjustments needed!! That is a first for me with any firearm.
Anyway, I am a happy camper with this air gun.

Have been all over the internet over the last 2 weeks deciding what pistol I wanted to start with for modding... and have looked at these on Allot of websites. The best price I have seen on them is like $54.

Was to good of a buy to pass up... ordered one last night  :)

Wasn't even going to get one yet... but knew I would want another someday (had one years ago with the rear breech).  Won't be modding this one to start... going to use it as a family plinker. Still want a 2300 or 2400 to start the modding as the first one.

Had some stuff in my Amazon wish list that qualified for the free standard shipping but wasn't up to the $25 min order. Adding the $39.99 American Classic 1377 obviously would do that. So I took my chances and ordered one. It shipped this morning and I should have it by Tuesday (Monday, if I'm lucky). I'm hoping too, that I'll be lucky enough to not have to relegate the entire gun to the "donor" mode. With more than a $20 difference in price from the WalMart version, I can afford to buy some upgrades that I just might have done with a full priced gun anyway! Flex

Stay positive... it's gonna be a good gun. If it's grossly bad quality for some reason(s), don't mess with it do the Amazon return shuffle asap , like next morning. So many of these have been bought that your replacement will be fresh stock from totally diff mfg batches diverted from Walmart to Amazon!  :-*

Amazon is really good about returns. I had to return something and they chipped in some $$ for the shipping.
By the way, the 1322 is still priced a lot higher at $54.99 plus about $8.50 shipping. They also have the 1322 Premier Shooters Kit with shoulder stock, glasses, pellets and a pellet bag for $79.99 plus $7.50 freight. I wouldn't mind one of those at all.

Managed to get my 1322c from a Local Gun Shop (LGS), out the door for $56 and change. Pretty satisfied with that. RE: the Premier Shooter's Kit, doesn't sound too different from the Doomsday Bug-Out Survival Kit available from WalMart for $87 Site to Store (free shipping). Barrel is 2" longer and forearm is the rifle-type. Other than the stock, the other stuff is fluff. If you're going to mod the 1322, the WalMart route might be the way to go. Is the shoulder stock in the Premier Shooter's Kit the "quick release" type or the screw on type? The downside of the 2289g Backpacker in the Doomsday ...Kit is that it's not really designed to be used in the pistol mode. It's certainly easy enough to get grips (the kit doesn't come with them) but the real issue is that the stock retention pin makes for a VERY uncomfortable hand hold! I'm pretty sure that mine will stay in the rifle mode and the 1322c will stay in the pistol mode. (I do reserve the right tho, to change my mind at a moments notice ;)). Flex

It's the screw on type, not quick release.

The screw on type may be more versatile and cheaper in the long run if you aren't planning on any further modifications :o and don't want anymore airguns ???. (Can't say for sure). I'm thinking that it wouldn't be much of an issue to remove the stock retention pin and spring then drill out the grip for fastening with screws OR if one is in the opposite situation, buying a stock retention pin and spring (and maybe a shoulder stock pad) and living with the holes in the sides of the hand grip. I've done it both ways.  It is not too hard to determine the correct location of the holes to use the screws and that is the way I prefer to do it.  The only issue going the other way is when you remove your stock with the QD pin installed and putting the grips on it, the QD pin can dig into your hand when shooting with the pistol grips.  I prefer the stock with the holes drilled and having to remove and install the screws to having the QD pin dig into the web of my thumb during pistol practice (I have big hands).
If you are only going to shoot it as a carbine but need to break it down for transport or to fit it in your case, using the QD pin would be quicker and less hassle than fooling with the screws.
