Now you have me thinking, time to fire up my old south bend and make a .22 barrel for my old 357.Might have to make a new cylinder detent but I can do that. Why? Just for the fun of it !
I got a new Mark II for my wife and kids... I think it was a pretty good trade.

I had to stare at that for a while before I realized it was the Umarex 586.  It's very close to the real thing.  They really are one of the nicest co2 action pistols ever made.  I have the "stainless" version.

Howie, do you get any movement on the dot site mounted on that dovetail in the 357?  I had one on mine and there was a little wiggle because the dovetail isn't tight enough with the barrel.  I wondered if there was somewhere to put some epoxy of a set screw of some sort.

:D ;D... ya, they are a head turner, it is nearly identical in weight and feel to my S&W Model 27, .357 mag, the action and trigger even feel the same! Most accurate pellet revolver I have and I got lucky with the "kit" with the 4" and 6" barrel, extra mags, pellets and fitted case for all, don't think they sell e'm that way anymore?

I did at first but it seems the dovetail is pressed into the  barrel on the 357, so i got some  loctite for automotive use and loctated the  whole rail i toiced it moved so i made it solid now it dont move at all, it has increased accuracy alot . I did this on both of mine

Hmm..yeah loctite flows better than epoxy.  I'll try that.  You use the permanent kind?

Brian, my 686 didn't come with the shorter barrel.  Wish it did because I'd like that variety.  Not to hijack the thread, but is there any work that can be done to these?  I've never had it apart.  Lightening the trigger a little would be nice...but then can't do a lot with revolvers I guess.  I usually shoot it on single action.

BDS

Call me crazy but... I've never had the S&W apart, she's too sweet outa the box and I don't want to hose her up!

Ditto on the single action shooting, dbl action has too much mechanical work to do to be 10 meter accurate.
