I guess I'll finally be joining you CO2 guys. There is now a ton of reading for me to do about these guns. I'm kind of sharing it with my wife (for now) and we finally have a gun she can shoot all by herself.
yay... go shoot it and enjoy :-*

Sure will! We did give it a "test drive" on Sunday. Now I wonder just how much this "free" air gun is going to cost me (mods...). :-X
Actually... the first and most important mod... the trigger polishing and lighter coil spring is free or less than $2, just your time and patience and some reading up on the polishing process here or GTA or the web, Mike (Cross hairs) has several videos he's made on tear down and re-assembly, PM him if you can't find the videos.
The 2240 is really an awesome gun and lately it has once again become my favorite shooter. It is very simple to take apart and there is tons of stuff on-line if you need help. Get the EVP from the Crosman website as that will help immensely.
Carl
Oh... he already knows about the trigger mod. I read his post on it for his 1377.
Very Cool Jerry!!! :) :)
Good for You!! Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!!
Congrats!!! :-* :-*
So how was it? Did you have fun? Lots of people there? What was the coolest part?
congrats :-* :-*
Congrats :-*
Congratulations! :-*
Way to go Tater :-*
Hmm, forgot to say CONGRATULATIONS tater!!! :-*
Carl
pictures or it didn't happen :P :) either way that is an excellent win :-*
Nice, sound like a good time.
Thanks guys and good memory about my 1377 Brent. The fun shoot was a great time. I felt a bit out of place with my pea shooters (!377, Gamo Hornet, Wife's P-17), but I got to try out an FX Independence, FX Boss, Daystate Huntsman and numerous Mrods.
These guys were shooting everything around 60+ yards, but for someone stuck indoors normally like me, it was really cool to shoot out to 30 yards.
It was my first event like that and was a great experience. The 8-9- hour drive just to shoot for the weekend was pretty rough though. Hated going back to work today. >:(
Edit: It came with a box of 15 CO2's and a tin of CPHP's which was great because my guns are all .177 and no CO2.
congrats! Sounds like it was a good time.
Tater you won a very cool air gun the 2240 as you know is very accurate and fun to shoot now get ready to do some mods open up that wallet. You will soon be bitten and most likely will get another one.
Mike
That's a nice prize you received Congratulations Tater.Shoot it some and then think about the mods :-* :-* :-*
Thanks guys!
Nice going ............ :-*
Sounds like you had fun... Cool :)
Even better with the carts and pellets :-*
So how did you win it? Was it a raffle or door prize?

It was a raffle. We couldn't afford too many tickets but some guys bought a ton. All for a good cause though.
I was shocked that I won it, it was the one of the few things I could use. I've been wanting one too.

Congrats Tater, hope you can get it back from your Wife. :D :D
Cool that you got one, congrats.
They're cool guns, very similar to your 1377 as you know by now I'm sure, I say leave it mostly stock other than lightening the trigger, and stick a longer barrel on it if you want it quieter (they're dang loud...), or maybe get a longer .177 barrel and bolt if you only want to have one size of pellet around... I think mine is going to stay stock other than lightening the trigger and putting a longer barrel on it (I'm going to use the barrel off my 2289 and get a 18" barrel for it)
Thanks guys, and I hope so too Dave.
OK, second mod if noise is an issue (2240s can be loud), TKO LDC http://www.tko22.com/ (http://www.tko22.com/) :-*

They are pretty loud and I was thinking about getting a TKO. Then I would either need a new rear sight (with steel breech) or a steel breech and scope. It never ends!!!! :-X
No Tater unfortunately it doesn't stop it will never be truly complete ever :D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Nah... just drill a small hole in the TKO end cap (at 90 dgerees :D) and make your own sight from a 1/8" welding rod or other small dia stuff like a good finishing nail. Actually, Mike at TKO will do that front sight for you IIRC, just ask him.
Congratulations!!
That little win will end up costing you a bit, but I guarantee some big smiles! :-*
Rich
congrats!
sounds like you had a good time!
you need a mr007 co2 cap and this and that
free did you say free ? ???
it wont stay that way for long ;)
Congrats on the win, now you have to get two more for yourself. One to mod (maybe 2,3,or4) and one to leave stock. You need a stock one when you shoot with the wife.
Jon
tater you also need to keep a stock 2240 so you can shoot our box stock 2240 competition. It's loads of fun and a real challenge. Heck, get your wife to shoot it also. We ain't prejudiced at all. :)
Carl
;), Glad you won it Tater! You will love it! Don't know about your wallet though! Since I retired , I have been picking up more Aluminum Can's to Sub the Income! Enjoy!.....John :-*

Due to a lack of $, it will stay stock for a while at least. I am hoping to get my wife to shoot in the competition as well.
