I've had a bone-stock 2240 laying around almost unused. And I've decided to make it a carbine. I plan to add the typical steel breech and Crosman shoulder stock. But where can I get the longer barrels? Does Crosman sell these? And where might I find a forend?
Many thanks in advance!
I bought a 2250 Barrel, Part # 2250-019 from Crosman for $11.73 about a month ago. It is.22 caliber and 14.5" long
Here is Carl's list but some of these have gone obsolete:
.177 (4.5mm) Length (in inches) Original Gun Crosman P/N
7.5" 2240 Only 1740-002
10.25" 1377 1377-025
Lothar Walther Match 10.1" 2300 300-102
24" 1760 1760-001
.22 (5.5mm) 7.5" 2240 Only 2240-002
10.25" 1322 1322-064
14.5" 2289 2289-001
14.5" 2250 2250-019
18" 2400 2400-102
24" 2260 2260-003
If you don't mind the wait mellon air does an awesome job with his barrels and will cut to what ever length you want.
]If you want tto add a forearm goto the Crosman site and download the EVP for the 2250 you`ll see the parts you need to add one you`ll have to do a new co2 tube barrel band piercing cap and the little plate to fasten the forearm and they show the forearm good luck the 2240 co2 tube is really too short for a forearm don`t know anybody that makes forearm to fit the stock 2240 tube

Thanks for the help. Not sure what direction to take this project. I am thinking maybe a matching wood forend and stock from a custom maker.

Sounds like your have a cool project in the works. May i add before you spend money on wood grips and things like that make sure the gun shoots good. I always do all the custom work first then add the fancy stuff after i'm happy with how she shoots. Just me thinking again and that don't happen to often. onebaddj is right about mellon's barrels go for it.

As per phone call to Crosman last week... This item (24'' 760 barrel) is discontinued. I was referred to to # 1760SE-001 as replacement.
It is a .177 barrel from the disco and has the flat spot for the rear site and IS rifled.
