Title: Co2 Brands - Update / 6-10-13
Post by: nomobux on May 11, 2013, 01:20:40 PM
Curious. Godfather sells G-Tac labeled carts at a good savings in quantity. Are they good. Anyone try them.

Never mind ... found the answers  :)

Well, opinions I've seen is they are good .... but I went to the site and they do not ship the Co2's free. They say they are so cheap, they are excluded from the free dealy. Even so, I would save about 10 cents per over local.  Would be a killer deal if they honored the $99 and over free shp'g they advertise.

I use the G-tac's, and get just as many shots from them as Crosman's carts. When I bought mine, a couple months ago, they were honoring the free delivery.

Well apparently they changed. It states no free shp'g on the 300 count and during checkout, shp'g is added to the tune of $30 to the NW.]

I have seen them too... I did not comment as I have never used them.

But I have been using the Walmart 40pcs for $19.99 Crosman cartridges and as we all know they work just fine. ;)

Just to update. I ordered the 300 pack.  They do charge shp'g. I ran 2 carts and they worked just as well as Crosman's.  Here's what I came up with savings wise.

Local dicount store - 86 cents per including tax

Walmart - 98 cents per including tax & gas for me as it's a 75 mile round trip.

Godfather - 43.5 cents per including shp'g of $30 to the PNW.

Sooo.  it was a pretty good savings for me. Woulda been killer at 33 per with the old free shp'g.

.98 at Walmart? I pay .535 per at walmart, Don't figure in the gas because the wife goes to Sams club at the other end of the shopping center. It's only 14mi. round trip for us. Sounds like you are set on carts for a while.

Lol.  Set , I guess. That's a hella lotta carts. But that was the best way as far as savings. All my other AG's are springers and this with keep the 2240 I have and the CCS 2400 KT ordered busy.   :o

True, I live in a small town. I either have to travel or shop internet to get anything but the basics at a fair price. The plus is country living, low crime of any kind and the hills are 10 minutes behind me.

The country living indeed, I grew up on a lake 30 min from here, I live about
5-10 min from downtown Albany, NY ...(The Capital of NY ) and can shoot in my backyard ...
{ TKO airguns only }

I'm 7 miles out of town on 12 acres. It's legal to shoot anything but center fire out here, but I keep it to AG and once in awhile a 22 for skunks, etc. How do you like the TKO"s ? I have a 6.5 coming for the 2400 KT. Real quiet ???

A bud from work brought me 50 carts today from an order he placed for 450. They were 30 couple cents per with free shipping. I have emailed him for the site name as I forgot what he said. They have "made in Japan" on them and some other info. I will post more when he contacts me or ask him Monday when I return to the "DAY CARE"

I didn't carry them out with me  today. We had a lock down this week because of a bomb threat. I didnt feel like being stopped on the way out and try and convince BARNEY that they were not mini pipe bombs! :D

I knew it was not Godfathers, I had shared that site with him and he found the following site a day or so latter.

Here is the brand and info: http://www.lelandltd.com/12_gram_airgun_cylinders.htm (http://www.lelandltd.com/12_gram_airgun_cylinders.htm)

Here is where he ordered from: http://www.redrockminnesota.com/servlet/the-201/Case-of-450-each/Detail (http://www.redrockminnesota.com/servlet/the-201/Case-of-450-each/Detail)

I weighed 10 at work and average the weight. I will do the same for the Crosman carts I have left. Then weigh the empty containers and see what I can deduce. On all accounts the Leland have a great reputation. We shall see said the blind man :)

I'm not saying I wouldn't use other brands of CO2 cartridges, but as long as Crosman CO2 is readily available both locally and online, I prefer to use it.

Mike ... I was waiting for GF customer service to reply before posting, but I'm starting to think that ain't happnin.

When I got my order ( sent usps ) it was in a medium priority box. They are pretty light wt and 300 carts are heavy. The box looked pooched and taped up. The carts are not boxed like the site pics. They are in fact 3 / 100 per clear plastic bags. Anyway, when I opened the box, 2 bags were split open and I then became leery. I counted TWICE and both times were 291.

I called and the cust serv lady insisted I repeat my story via email  ???. I did within 15 minutes. That was 3 day ago.
Sooo, that's my story and I'm stickin to it.  On a side note, I've run 5 carts now and they work well. Also, I don't think a medium flat rate priority box is $30+ to ship.

In the big picture, I guess 9 short isn't a big deal overall, but it would be nice to hear from them. I kinda thot I was getting a runaround.

You can always finance your co2 costs by doing what these D-heads  :D on Ebay do, buy it at Walmart and charge 3 times the price on Ebay >:(   http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=co2+cartridge+crosman (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=co2+cartridge+crosman)

Does anybody actually buy this stuff on Ebay?  ??? :-X

New source. I talked to John at Redrock Dist. His carts are Leland "Special Force" & Military approved. He has had very good feedback from the airgun/airsoft people. I called some friends and we went together on a case of 450. It was $144 shipping included. That's 32 cents a cart ( very cheap ).  I rec'd a shipping notice within 2 hrs. Ordered early am on 5/28 and Fedex trk'g shows delivery Sat 6/1 from Mn to Wa. Can't beat that with a stick. He has smaller quantities, but the cost per increases. Hope this is useful to you guys.

Ok.  Used 3 each random carts from GF, Redrock and Crosman. Weighed all on my postal scale before and after.  They all checked out wt wise at 12g. All performed the same to me , as far as I could tell. The results are 50 per at walmart, 43 per GF, and 32 per from Redrock. That is quite a savings if you shoot alot. If you have a buddy, you can split the cost if you don't want 450. I'm happy with them.  Hope it helps someone.  Side note ... GF & RR were both made by Leland.

Yes, and unlike God Father, the communication and ultra fast shp'g was  ++++++.  Packaging was much better also. I never have gotten a reply from God Father on the email they requested. Just BS on the phone call.  $30.40 for shp'g on a $15 USPS box that is too light for the wt.  No more GF.

Good information and will be taken into serious consideration when I use up my current supply of ~750 powerlets.
