Title: Pellgunoil, Loctite tubes leaking?
Post by: Petrifiedwood on June 30, 2013, 11:38:17 PM
Just curious...

My last tube leaked all over the place. I also have a tube of blue loctite and it leaks as well.

Anyone else have the same problem? I am thinking of leaving the pin in the tube that I use to puncture the hole, to hopefully help keep it sealed. The cap does fit over the pin. Though putting a pin into the loctite tube and leaving it there would ruin the loctite.

I transfer fluids to plastic dropper bottles for the reasons you stated.

I've never had that problem before. I have some in my tool box in the garage that is 10 years old and no leaks. I did start using the paste type that has the screw bottom and I like it a little better it stays where you put it.

Whats the temperature where they are stored?

Both are light viscosity and even lighter (watery) above 80 deg F

If you store them horizontally, get as much air out of the tubes before storage and that will keep them from increasing in pressure as the air expands, short of that find a way to store them vertically with the cap up and they won't leak

Regular indoor "room temperature".

I hadn't considered squeezing out the excess air. I'll give that a try. :)

My pellgun tube leaks also, if you lay it down. I keep mine in one of the wifes used pill bottles and store it standing upright. No more leaks.

The bottle that Cart Gun Oil (my product) comes in will put an end to all that, plus you get 4x as much for same $. Sold on the Bay.

Nice. I will likely re-up with your stuff when I finish the tube of the Crosman stuff. Maybe sooner if it is as annoying as y'all say it is. (I'm still waiting for my CCS order.  :(  )

I keep my pellgun oil in a RWS hobby pellet tin it keeps the tip pointed up it don't leak and don't need the cap.
