Title: Crosman Copper Trigger ?
Post by: Davio on July 20, 2013, 09:05:58 AM
I just received a batch of NOS triggers and one of them is copper.  WTH?  I have never seen one before and I can't find any reference to them anywhere that I have searched (forums and internet).

It's geometry / layout is the same, but it is more rounded on the edges.  I will post a pic of it versus a brass and black pot metal one for your viewing pleasure.

Anybody familiar with this?

Thanks  :)

I havent...might be a good idea to coat it with clear nail polish or something similar so it doesnt get corroded and end up looking like the statue of liberty..

if it really is copper then it's probably rare --- keep is a collectible piece --- probably not worth too awful  much though

If it is the only one I ever get/see, I will certainly put it into my NFS treasure chest alongside other keepsakes and Chongman handles, etc. : ;)

What would it take to get one of those copper ones off your hands?  ;)

I just have the one and it came in a dusty pile of new old brass ones I bought, so I did not know I was even getting it.

I better hang onto this one for a bit.  :)

Just read this and YES!... you are right.  The magnet snatches it right up.  :-* It is copper plated. Still strange, though.  I wonder if they copper coated some of the pot metal ones at some point so that they could brass or chrome plate it?  Probably never know.

Wonder if it was from a batch of brass plating where they had been working with the brass too long where the tin had burnt out?

Man, anything is possible.  It's not particularly pretty, really.  Just strange.  Not much to coordinate with it.  It kinda clashes with anything I put it next to on a gun.  I suppose it could "work" with a "Copper Vein" powder coat project and a green shoe (since it might be that color some day).  It might be okay with the right camo pattern, too (just thought of that).  ???

Maybe some color blind dude lost his job over it!?  ??? :D ;D
