Title: 1377 how many pumps
Post by: kev02 on February 21, 2014, 04:54:46 PM
Hi guys I have completed a few mods on my 1377, I will be shooting around 10 to 15 yds in my garden. At the present I am pumping it about six times is this adequate to keep the machine running smoothly as this is all new to me.

Should be fine. Keep the pivot joints lubed and it will be happy.

For 10 yards I do 5 pumps, for 20 I do 8.

If you flat-topped the valve, you'll be set just fine.
If you're hunting for little furry critter stealing food or being a pest, well, 10 pumps, adequate shot placement and the right pellets work wonders.  :-*
For shooting in our Comps, I found 4 pumps in a stock valve is just fine for the 5 Meter & 10 Meter.

I have to admit I often over pump but usually nothing over 12ish regardless of distance.  ???

I over pump mine but I built them to,  I built them to be hunters, and I shoot them enough to keep my feel 10 to 30-40 shots a week each once I get them tuned.

I shoot my Daisy 853 daily...
