Crosman has designed a few guns like the 1700 series and the Discovery that have long valves (no more volume) that effectively stop the striker from opening the valve as far as other valves they already had in production. ??? They also have an extended length hammer in the CH2009 which effectively makes the stroke shorter. :o
I am curious as to what the advantages to these changes would be. Is there is an explanation beyond the obvious one of "tuning".
Any thoughts or theories would be interesting to hear. 8)
Those hammers are adjustable, so I would call it tuning. :)
