Title: Airgunsmith triggers
Post by: twigboy on February 13, 2016, 08:40:13 PM
(Not sure if this belongs here but..)
I was interested in a straight (not curved) replacement trigger, where the blade will be unobstructed in its pull at the rear, on a 1377 (PC77, 3-screw cover).  I found some at http://www.airgunsmith.com/cros1377/cros1322-77.htm (http://www.airgunsmith.com/cros1377/cros1322-77.htm) but on inquiry found they sell "kits" for $55.00  - Includes Trigger, Safety & Sear Spring and Guide.  I didn't need all the extras there.  Any other ideas where I can find a straight trigger?  For less than that price?  Just looking for simple, no-frills, decent quality but not extravagant.  Thanks.

I see on the right side of the page he lists his Mallard 3 Screw Cover Trigger which is a flat looking trigger.  However, I could not get a price to come up on the trigger alone.  Not sure if one must contact him for a price as it has been a long time since I picked up anything from his sight.

I think they have been dealing thru email for some time now - could be wrong on that...but John has usually responded within one day with prices and availability. Send him an email for what you want. Btw, my experience with them is 100% positive  :-*

IMHO it's almost impossible to beat the 1701 trigger assy.  Not a straight style trigger but it sure is sweet.  $36.+-

I agree with you on that...but triggers* are a preference thing. No two hands exactly alike. I set mine up single stage with about an 8 - 10 oz. pull - and no over-travel screw. I don't know anyone else that does that...it just works for me.

* how do you misspell triggers  ???

Have to agree with Gary, triggers are a serious personal thing and the discussion of said trigger choices can become quite heated and generate more hard feelings than a lively political candidate choice discussion.  :-X

Not at all. I have all kinds and shapes of triggers and use them in airguns and powder burners.  In fact, later today I'll post up a picture of a flat trigger I have that if you want I'll sell you extremely cheap and you can play with it.

Just ordered a flattop valve and piston from airgunsmith and had to use email for communication. He sent me back a price list and does payment through paypal. Item arrived in under a week and look good. Just shoot him an email and he can probably give you a price on the broke down trigger parts.

Here is a picture of the trigger I have that you might be interested in.  Don't remember who made it but I believe it was someone on our forum a while back.  It has a shape similar to a 1911 trigger.

Needs a little TLC but it works.  I installed a bearing in my other one and have it in one of my 1377 guns.

Thanks Carl.  :)  I mounted it today and like the less curved feel but may be a little narrow so maybe look for a shoe -- probably not.  Not normally a fan of the 1911 look though but it makes for it to be stable.  A lot less slack in it.  I think it will work for me and stay there.

That's the old stock trigger painted gold ??? with shoe.  I didn't like the way it pinched my finger at the top, and if I moved the shoe up made a weird pull angle.  Without the shoe isn't much difference except skinnier.  I think my finger is hinged strangely

Trigger looks good mounted in your 1377.  Adds a nice, and different, touch.  Not your run of the mill trigger change out.

i do believe they make a wide blade for it now. I added a wide piece of brass epoxied on. I like the wide blade on a trigger. I did mod a stock trigger with a flat wide piece of metal making it a straight blade. What a huge difference it made. I'll post a pic when I find it. Someone now makes a trigger shoe similar to my modded trigger
