Well it's not a pcp yet! I went with mountainair's "ready to go center section" pcp tube. Haven't asked for much details except they have no gauge which I prefer, they are 3000 psi safe and is 19" in length. I'd assume probably disco internals. Paid for January 11th but Roy says he's out of parts and is waiting on more and is "a few weeks behind" on orders, so who knows when it'll come in but I'm patient.
I got a bnm breech with shroud holder, 21" shroud and is rear bolt. I love it. Just need another mag or two as loading the mrod mags are a bit of a pain. The shroud hides a pretty accurate 18" barrel underneath.
My next step is getting a 2260 stock from magnumair as well as a 2260 trigger assembly from alliance hobby. I got my 2240 trigger to a really nice short crisp 1 stage trigger which is surprising giving I've heard nothing but garbage about them. So should be happy with a polished up 2260/disco trigger. If not I'll cough up the coin for disco labs mrod trigger to disco conversion assembly.
I do have a question though, which power adjusted do you all recommend? There's so many, I just want people's real world opinions.
Thanks for reading! Any opinions, suggestions, or feedback much appreciated!
Edit: I'm on my phone, laptop is broke, so posting pics is hard And don't know how it got turned upside down.
Nice work. The bnm breeches are pretty nice. Put one on my sons 2250 and he loves it.
For the power adjuster i have a mellon air one on my 2400 but also made one for free. Just drill out the stock rear cap with a bit just a little bigger than the spring diameter. Thread it and with a bolt of the same thread cut off the head stick it in a drill and spin it on a file until it is pointed. Use a cut off wheel to slot the non pointed end and wala! Power adjustor that will keep the spring centered just like the rest, FOR FREE!
Thanks for the input and the instructions on making a power adjuster onebaddj! The bnm breech sure is nice, love the multishot capability.
It does sound appealing to make my own for the cost of a bolt and some time in the shop but I'm leaning more towards a premade one.
I just can't wait until I get the pcp tube and finally get off co2. The cheek piece on the 2260 stock looks a little low for a bnm breech and scope use in general, so I've eyed a couple cheek risers on amazon, particularly the Krydox ones. Should look nice on the stock. I'll either refinish the stock or paint it. Black or camo patterns. 8)
Just have a really old cheap Simmons 3-9x32 on there for now as that's all I have left. Scopes on Amazon's save for later list:
Utg 4-16x44 swat
Tac vector ops 6-24x50
Barska ridgeline 4-16x44 or 6-24x44
( but I'm leaning more towards a premade one. ) You will enjoy it more if you go ahead and build it and you can say Hey I built that myself. And if it does not shoot as well as you thought you can Owell I screwed up some where. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I have built several over the past 3 to 4 years and I seem to shoot the ones I built more over the ones that I bought. ! Now that's just me!! ??? ??? ??? ???
2260 stocks are $30+- from Crosman. Trigger assemblies (used) are very cheap on GTA, Yellow, AA. $10 or so. I've bought a couple and have been very satisfied.
Just a note, Alliance is the highest price anywhere.
Thanks for the input guys, trophyhunter you do have a good point there! Perhaps I'll give it a try....
Billk; yes alliance isn't cheap. I just don't know how to access parts numbers for crosman on 2260 stocks, triggers etc. ??? If I can find it I will definitely go that route. Hear nothing but great things on their CS, just wish you can call them up and just talk with someone who knows the guns and ask them what you want. I do understand the preciseness of strictly using parts number though.
And I believe you about alliance hobby :o I think I seen a 2260 stock on their ebay site for a ridiculously stupid price of $100 >:( that's why I was glad to find magnum airs $56 price point stock. Judging by the looks and size, aesthetics of the stock, it shouldn't be worth $56. I was eyeing their maximus stocks they were selling at $26. They look nice to hold and are synthetic which is nice.
We will see how it goes when I'm ready to order.
Ok, to get to Crosman parts this is what you do. Go the Crosman web page and go to the bottom of the page and click on owner's manuals. Find 2260 click on that and then click on
Parts Diagram that will bring you to the parts you are looking for. This will take you there. https://support.crosman.com/hc/en-us/articles/203543490-2260-Owner-s-Manual-EVP-1999-Present- Good Hunting :-* :-*
Thanks trophy I'll look into it today!
Well called crosman and gave them the part number for the 2260 stock, seems they don't keep them in stock anymore. Unfortunate. So my choices now are either $56 for the stock at magnumair or call and get the maximus stock for under $30.
I dont like the gauge hole in the maximus stock when I don't have a gauge to begin with, but that's not a deal breaker and could be worked with. Perhaps epoxy a wood block into it and spray it black.....
I placed a parts order with Crosman this morning, and for the first time the good lady would not (could not) add an "accessory" under the flat-rate parts shipping charge of $4.00. Must have been a recent policy change.

Hold up on the 56.00 stock, let me look and see if I have one. If so I will PH you and we'll go from there :)
Mike
Thanks for the offer Mike, I went and ordered the 2260 stock from magnumair this evening and am glad I did. Great guy to do business with and am looking forward to doing more with him in the future!
As for the stock, I have plans to attach a Krydox cheek riser to it, should do wonders and looks nice too. Still don't know if I want to spend the time refinishing it or just go straight to black paint...
Just a quick update. Got my 2260 stock and mountainair ready to go pcp center section yesterday.
I've got to say I'm impressed with the 2260 stock. It could use a better butt pad for sure but other than that, holds nicely, looks nice and traditional and would look nice if I refinished it but I'm sticking to my plan, have it sanded and ready for a coat of bedliner. Looking for a black tacticool style.
I am just pumping the gun up now, found out last night that after two years of no use, my hill pump needed rebuilding. Good thing I had a kit on hand so I rebuilt it after work. The gun is significantly harder to cock. Dont have a chrony so I will need one next payday.
Within the next few days I may tear it down fully and silicone the inside of the tube and where else needed. The center section came dry I noticed.
Filled the gun up to 2900 psi, I don't know the optimal fill pressure yet, without a chrony and with almost 4 feet of snow covering everywhere, I don't have a stable shooting range anymore to shoot to find when POI drops off.
but I did go out set up a sketchy 30 yard range and ran into some problems right away!
I don't thing the ready to go section comes with the valve gasket, I get a blast of air every shot to the face. But a more serious issue revealed itself. When I shoot, it seems as if the valve stem is sticking or the hammer spring is just too strong? ??? Because the air blast makes a good but of recoil for a pcp and it makes an extended "pfffft" noise with each shot?
Is the valve stem sticking? Is it valve dumping? Hammer bounce? I've never encountered this problem and am need of some help. I'm tearing the gun down now, silicone certain areas.
Hey you should post pics here:

Little thread I started for 2260's, and Discos too.
Joe
Thanks for the suggestion Joe, I will do that when I have it all set up.
An update on the gun. I'm not excited with the chrony numbers but one step at a time!
doesn't shoot bad at 50 yards considering I chopped the barrel and "crowned" it ;D and the awful extreme spread/deviation.
Here it is so far. Next up is hpa tank, reg, and adapter. I don't know when JDS Will restock but it'll be awhile i assume.

Looking real good!
Now for the tuning. I'm not sure what you ended up with for a PA, but you may need to be able to back it off less than stock for a flat string. If you made a PA from a stock cap, that is not possible. I am using the stock Disco cap on my Disco that is drill and taped to 3/8-24 and I can back off enough to get a pretty flat string in the 800 fps range. The Disco cap is much longer than a 22xx cap. I found that if it is un-regulated, then I had to settle for less power which gave me more shots and a flater string. I can crank inthe PA anytime I want to boost me back into the 900+ range if I need to take out a tree rat.
Did you get a chrony yet? It will help fine tune it to your liking.
Good progress...

Looking good. How's it group?
Thanks for turning my pictures around! 8) don't know why they do that when I upload from phone.
And for the tuning. I have magnum air power adjuster. As well as some minor porting and made a poly tube transfer port. Maybe I'm expecting too much from a 17" barrel and gauge-less 19" disco tube? I settled with this tune for now but should and will tune for lower extreme spread, better efficiency. I plan on a 24" barrel soon.

I did notice my first 5 shots were on quite the extreme angle down perhaps causing the 25+ fps jump on shot number 6 and that's the only 25+ fps jump in the string not including shot 19 to 20. So tomorrow I will do a more thorough chrony session and power adjustment tuning. But the consistency has potential I think.
It groups well for my own barrel chop and haven't had a formal target session. As I have no rangefinder yet, I haven't the need for heavy target work. I do have a 50 hard range and will get some paperwork done soon. I mainly hunt but certainly love shooting paper.
Next steps are a 24" barrel, perhaps a LW from mac1 is what I'm thinking. I know, sheesh, this gun is getting up there in price and my girlfriend sees it as a money dump plus I still plan a drop tank adapter, tank and reg! But this is what I want and since I can't afford to drop $1000+ on a high end gun at once, I'll make my own over the course of several months ;D
Speaking of drop tank adapters, I don't know when JDS will restock so I'm wondering has anyone here made one their own, to go nicely with a 22 ci tank?
Thanks everyone for reading!
I've used the Archer Air drop blocks in the past.

Thanks, that has crossed my mind and could be most economical, but is it really safe to mod those archer drop tank adapters up to 3000psi? I want my regulator somewhere around 1600-1800 so a 3k burst disc will be used as well.
The Archer tank block can be used. There is room between the o-rings for another set of mounting screws. There is very little space between the end of the tube and the stock mount screws.
I have a QB79 using the block, 13ci 3000 psi bottle regulated to 1400 psi, 50 shots per fill, 845 fps, 25 fpe. I did drill and thread for a second set of mounting screws.

Working on one now with that drop block. I say I'm thruogh building and next thing I know I'm working on another one! :D :D :D
I just had to ;D the spending on this gun won't end ??? Will get a better pic up or too when I can

Ohhh! Nice stock! Which model is that??
Thanks, its a custom disco stock from ssso.

Those are nice stocks. :-*
That blue stock is sick! :-* :-* :-*
Thanks all, yes I love looks but more so the better ergonomics.
I'm thinking a red laminate for my next build :-* doesn't end, I'm not even done my first build ;D

Very nice! I like the looks of the laminate stock.
Very nice ... :-*
Super sweet :-*
Very Nice, Sergio has those damn kits on sale right now and I was literally two digits away from owning a .25 side bolt twin to yours when I decided two projects at once is enough for any relationship. hahaha ;D No but really I was typing in the card when reason returned, so it was fun to see this post, looks brilliant so far great job! Question though, why no band? You might find increased accuracy with one, worst case won't have to worry about clipped shots.
Thanks all, love the stock.
Kilmister, this gun was a pure project so it was literally piece by piece, so after I eventually got the breech, the accuracy is at I'd give it an 1" at 50 with occasional flyers and confirmed pest kills at 85~ yards to show that so I've been happy with it and it being a 17" crosman barrel. I plan on a LW barrel down the road and will get a barrel band then.
My JDS 22ci 1800 psi regulated tank came in ;D Now just waiting on a drop tank adapter.
