All,
What are my options for a good magazine subscription? I found Airgun Hobby, but are there any other options. Any favorites? I'm into collecting and pumpers. Thanks!
V/r,
Chris
I have recently subscribed to Airgun Shooter. It seems to cover everything except pumpers. It is a English Mag and I do the electronic version. I have liked it so much that I am currently buying all the old issues. It has an ongoing column? from a repair person and I really like part. It has delta with springers so far but a lot of the procedures will apply to other situations. The magazine has good reviews and they usually compare town guns of equal status but different manufactures. It also is geared to hunting more than paper shooting. http://www.airgun.tv/subscribe/ (http://www.airgun.tv/subscribe/)
I'v learnt more about air guns digging around websites then most magazines, how ever. I heard Air Gun Hobby magazine is readily available, plus Air gun illustrated might be on shelves. To be honest, i have not noticed very many magazines in stores focusing mainly on air guns. The public library or similar should land you some exceptional literature. There are a lot of good "books" out there on air powered guns.

Airgun World is another one. I've only seen 3 dedicated mags, the others had a bit of everything and no particular focus.
They're all pretty similar really. As with most mags on a single subject they seem to do the same stories in a competitive way.
One does 'how to hold a pistol', a month later the others doing the same story with different picts.
I use to find this alot with buying UK and USA mags (fishkeeping not porn!). I found the UK ones would mimic the USA ones a month later - literally!
You may still be able to get a copy, Airgun World (I think its that mag!) has a chunky gun-guide for 2011 Ã,£6.99. UK prices, specs, makers/importers/distributors and tweaks. One to keep in the reading room of yourt house, the toilet! ;) A good read though. :-*
BUT, all in all, the web offers the same as the mags spread out and this place is über fast at answering questions and such - albeit biassed to crosman but then thats why we're here!
American Airgunner TV show any good? Sportsman Channel says it's on but my DVR Fios searches are not finding it.

Thats a fine idea, theres enough graphic designers on here to help out. Nat, Joshua A and me are the few I know of, there may be more?
If theres enough issues or info it could become a book - Encylopedia Crosmanica! Hints, tips, makers contact info and some crosman porn of the custom rifles and pistols! :)
A book of knowledge for Crosman's, fantastic. Could be put out monthly, wouldn't want brain overload by putting too much information out at one time. Lots of pictures and graphics. Think of all the knowledge that would be saved for future enthusiasts. It could become one of the greatest educational tools to surface in quite a while. Would it be successful and popular, absolutely. We could probably even get an educational grant from the government. Whoops my bad, we want to be successful so we better leave the government out of it. All kidding aside I think it's a great idea.

I've cancelled my subscription to Airgunner and Airgun World and only buy Airgun Shooter.
I find it far more interesting with more unbiased reports and good mix of reviews and stories on hunting, kit, scopes, HFT.
Only wish they would include customising, pistols and stories from airgunners around the world including non UK competitions like Silhouette.
Cheers

I only see a few of issues; ;)
If its not a pdf for example then this will need a publishing house to take it on. It is unlikely to be taken on due to the
nature of the subject and the primary factor - they will want to know what their return will be and the market is limited.
It can be done. On another forum 12 of us got a book published through a US publisher, TFH.
But I'm not sure there's an airgun twin for a company like that except one........
.......perhaps Crosman themselves may be interested?!
We must be the best living, breathing and expanding advert they have going. That's worth recognition IMHO!
If it wasn't a pdf/book, would there be enough info for a monthly?
Maybe quarterly would be better, these projects take a while to evolve and finish.
Also repeating content would be dull.
A pdf style book/mag would be good. Its cost free to produce - bar the time envloved in putting it together - voluntary.
Previous issues could be always available for anyone that loses one or is new to the hobby/obsession.
It could cover custom shops, fittings/mods/tips, profile members and their crosmans. An eye-candy gallery and URLs.
It would basicly be the best of this forum, filtered down, cleaned up and served on a platter.
Is there a demand, I know polls are disabled on this forum but this would be worthy of one to get a clear idea.
Of course this is all down to the main mans decision, the forum founder: Brutuz! :-*
Cheers :-*
EDIT: Realistically I see a one off being the most plausible. Or at least annually.

Now that is the most realistic idea I've seen, or read, that makes the most sense.
