Thanks for the update.  GMAC really does have a nice collection of parts.  Costs us a little more to get them shipped to the US but well worth it.

Swings and roundabouts...... Crosmans cost much much more over here so it'll even the pain a little!  ;)

[swings and roundabouts  (British & Australian) also what you lose on the swings, you gain on the roundabouts (British & Australian).
something that you say to describe a situation in which there are as many advantages as there are problems If you make more money,
you have to pay more tax, so what we gain on the swings, we lose on the roundabouts. It's swings and roundabouts, really.
If you save money by buying a house out of town, you pay more to travel to work.]

I've just seen some more on GMAC's site. I have to resist as I've already spent too much this month.  :-X

http://www.gmaccustomparts.com/epages/BT3197.sf/secfd13e263c1/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3197/Products/Disco-QShot22 (http://www.gmaccustomparts.com/epages/BT3197.sf/secfd13e263c1/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3197/Products/Disco-QShot22)

A self indexing repeater breech kit for the 22xx.  :-\

This (if there are any left) will be the breech for my 2250xt project when it starts!   :-*

BTW you have to have your barrel modded for it.

Tatsumi,
I tried to resist and failed. I um'd and R'd. Last night the VISA card fairy came out and I ordered the repeating breech.  :-[

A rule I follow is if you see something you want, get it. Chances are it won't be there next time!  ;D :D ;D And it's normally true!

I had to be a 'smooth-talking bar-steward' to convince the wife!  ;)

NorthStar, Isn't this the breech that requires the barrel to be cut and an o-ring added to the barrel?  Reason I ask is that I have this same repeating breech on my QB-78 rifle and I let Jay modify my barrel to fit the breech.  You might want to check out his website.

Your 100% correct Carl. It does require the barrel to be machined to fit. Gordon offers that service for a fee - £15./
He is also the sole provider of this breech in the UK and will only machine barrels if the breech came from him.

So what do you do.... run with it!  ;)

I'll be ordering a particular barrel at the end of the month and then I'll send it onto him.

Amongst my 4 projects on the go this will be my premium one - at least financially!  ;D

It'll be going onto a AS2250XT base.

Philb, I have a pdf Gordon sent me.

Basicly from the drawing, it looks like 3"+ is lathed off to make the barrel slimmer, 2 screw ports and
a chamfered entrance to the barrel (to funnel the pellets in easier I guess?).

Nothing major if you have the tools. The measurements are supplied within the pdf.

Personally, inches are alien to me and that's what the pdf is in.
It's the decimal inches that make no sense at all. Fractions and I'm fine but 2.855" is lunacy!  ;D
It seems a mix of both imperial and metric with the decimal...

I can only work (in general) with mm - millimetres. I always have to google the conversion for inches and don't trust it!

But primarily I don't have the tools to do the machining accurately so I'll give the barrel to Gordon.  :P

72.517mm

Just multiply the inch number times 25.4 to get the measurement in mm.

2.855 x 25.4 = 72.517

Divide mm by 25.4 to go back to inch.

Hope that helps,
Rich

Actually Rich, that does help. Thanks. Now I know!   :)

Inches were not taught at school in my generation so nobody has ever explained it. My laziness for not looking too.

Not a big deal. Back in the 70's all of my teachers talked of the US switching to metric system, but as far as I know, it still hasn't happened. They really never taught us anything but the basics and then in the real world of machining, everything was based upon inches.  I started working for an optics company 20+ years ago and had to adapt quickly. I think all optics, anywhere in the world is based on the metric system. Even with 20 years, I still need to think sometimes....like ok 3mm is about 1/8"  :D Stupid inch system was drilled into my head at an early age and now I'm stuck with it.

FATE, sweet FATE.... (Dune)

I was just on GMACs site and the breech has sold out! SO glad I threw the VISA at that one!  :o

See, if you don't go for it there and then it will be gone next time!  ;)
