The brass came last night,i had some time to spin one cap hope you like it.  :-*

I know you like this style winged gas cap as well as I do and probably many others so you might give a design like this some thought.

It would definitely look good in brass on a 2240.

i second that brass would be awesome and we (the USA) need to support other countries besides NZ --- i would/will be your first customer if you do "winged gas caps" --- just do it !!!  ;)

I haven't got one of them but is it made out of two parts. One part with the wings that bolts to the other?

might be kinda difficult with just a lathe but given enough time a file could do it ,even a dremel . i'm sure whatever you do will come out great

I'd be interested in a brass copy of the original :)

Might just be the paint texture but it almost looks cast, then finnished on a lathe.

the original one was switched --- mike knows what it looks like

That is a great idea for a brass winged cap like that. That would look great. 4 wings might look better then 3. I bet someone could be coaxed into making them on a CNC. That way there would be a good supply. :-*
