As you can see from Crosman rifles manual list,both the 1389 2289 are classed as rifles and as such can be modded up to our 12ftlbs limit here in UK :)

I think there was 4 different 1377s. As far as power go's there's not much difference some of things they did was to improve pumping to make it easy to pump, grips were changed from a one piece to two piece, on the fist 1377s the cocking was done from the rear of the gun not the side.Triggers were also changed here and there. The frames were also changed over the years.and the most recent was the plastic side plate.Here is a pic of 3 of them 80s.90s and 2000s . And the change of the frames
