I was just wondering,

Nah, no need to delete. This is what I had a few weeks ago. Hardly scientific but it'll do for now:

Hey Everybody!

Just a quick post to report the performance results for six of my pistolas:

1377: 791 fps, 7.23 fpe w/ 5.2 grain lead-free pellet, 15 pumps
1322: 566 fps, 10.67 fpe w/ 14.66 grain lead pellets, 15 pumps
1325: 458 fps, 9.43 fpe w/ 20.06 grain lead pellets, 15 pumps
2250: 595 fps, 11.53 fpe w/ 14.66 grain lead pellets
2540: 528 fps, 12.43 fpe w/ 20.06 grain lead pellets
600: 0 fps, 0 fpe w/ 14.66 grain lead pellets because it IS STILL BROKEN!!!

Overall good fun on the range. I was surprised the Co2 guns did so well despite it being as cold as 20F degrees

Take care everybody and see you around,

Noah

Thanks mate,
Exactly what i was looking for, some achievable numbers before i begin modding my 1377, I've never tried doing one before.

Nice numbers Noah.  :)

FWIW, I'm getting 9.1 Ft-lb out of my PC77 carbine, 695 fps on a 8.44gr JSB Exact, 10 pumps.

I've gotten about 735-740 fps at 12 pumps (10 ft-lb?), any more I start retaining air. I usually target shoot and do pest control (10 to 30 yards) at 10 pumps.

Edited- updated info.

Thanks for the replies folks.
If i can get to a consistant 650 to 700 fps or so, i will be happy with that.
Steel breech and flat top piston for starters, then i'll see how i get on from there.
If stopping power becomes an issue, i can for a to .22 barrel.
Thanks again.

My choice of sniping at nutters digging in my backyard are my crosman 1740 (bulked co2) and my modified 1377. Lately i've been using my 1377 for the task. I use predator polymag .177 and never had issue with stopping power within 25 yrds in my property. I only go for head shot or no shot. I only use 10 pumps for 707 fps with the polymag. The highest I pump her for 20 pumps yielded 828.7 fps.  :-*

My FT 13XX is 11FPE (actually a little more but that's an even number) with 10 pumps in .22 CAL.  8)

NorthStar,
Does 11fpe, mean 11ft/lbs energy?
My old airsporter only done just over 12.

My 1389 is putting out 11.6ftlbs with 20pumps .177 cal
Yep 11fpe is 11ftlbs energy...

Wow,
Those figures are amazing.
I think i may enjoy tinkering with my 1377 even more than i thought, lol.
God help the magpies and tree-rats, if i get near those numbers.

Apart from being .22 the only other thing that I did (power wise) that isn't on your list is a 20inch barrel.

Here's my thread:

The best I have done so far with the stock length barrel and 7.9gr CPL:
10 pumps 626 fps, 6.88 fpe.
15 = 716
20 = 774
25 = 804
30 = 854
This one has a higher than stock volume valve body and a teflon pump piston. It is somewhat anemic below 10 pumps.

Noah,

What mods do you have on your 13XX?   I trying to decide what my next build will be and your numbers are impressive:)

1377 stock
458 fps @ 10 pumps
10.5 grain crosman dome from cardboard box
4.9 fpe

my stock 1377 pretty anemic, not the 600 fps that it says on the box it came in but she hits what i am at. i'll be watching this thread for power increase tips. with increased fps, will accuracy suffer? my guess is finding that 'sweet-spot' tune of max fps & max fpe & the correct pellet.

Relatively easy power mods include a flat top piston and valve setup (@100 fps improvement at 10 pumps) and a longer barrel (@10+ fps per inch). Both of my FT setups from Mellon were plug-and-play; each developed 100+ fps improvement on two PC77 pistols. Longer barrels also improved fps by 10-15/inch on the same pistols.

so since a stock 1322 does about 425 with typical lead .22 pellets .... going from the 10 1/2 inch barrel to the 18 inch will get it in the 500 fps neighborhood and the 24 would take it to 550ish ? all with the stock piston/valve ?

In my personal experience, I saw around a 7-8 fps increase per additional inch of barrel over the stock barrel on two 1377 pistol. YMMV. Also, the longer barrel increases accuracy, too.

ok , so using your more conservative personal results that puts the 18 inch barrel adding about 56 fps over the stock 425ish which puts it in the 480fps area . and the 24 inch barrel adds 98 fps over stock putting it right at 525 . those velocities are plenty for my purposes . but its nice to know i can still add another 100 fps or so with a piston/valve upgrade getting it to crack 600 fps if i need or want more down the road .

Numbers get thrown around a lot like 10 fps/inch. That is why I gave you actual velocity increases that I have personally experienced. Glad the information was useful to you.
