how come crosman doesnt offer a 2250 or 2289 on there website?
and whats difference between 2300 and 2240?
Chris: A 2240 is the entry level .22 caliber pistol. A 2300 has two variants, the S and the T models. The S is the cheaper of the two and, they are both .177 caliber.
If you go to the Crosman site or Pyramyd Air (even better info and reviews) you will find all 3 guns.
A 2289 is the .22 caliber version of the .177 Crosman Backpacker pumper, I don't think it is made anymore. It was a carbine with a removable rifle stock, like the one in my avatar.
A 2250 is a 2240 with a forestock, long barrel and rifle stock.

you can make them your self still i made both guns myself

1377 makes an excellent point, go to the Crosman website, find the parts manual that you are interested in (2250 as example) and oder the parts that will convert your (stock) 2240 into a 2250. Basically, it's a steel breech kit, a #1399 stock and the longer co2 tube and fittings. Almost all of these parts are interchangeable among the generic 2240, 2300 frame and parts lists and even some of the 1377 guns. This is what creates the addiction and never ending mods :D
PS made that too simple... you will want a longer barrel, the foregrip and screw tabs, etc etc. You'll see when you download the parts diagrams.
i have a complete 2289g now in pieces all brand new parts from crosman
just have to assemble it
and the 2289g with shrouded brass barrel
had all the parts to make a 2250b too.ended up selling them as a complete gun

I think your switched up on the 2300. The T is the cheaper one. The S has nicer sights, an extended bolt, an a power adjuster. There is also the 2300KT which is pistol for the custom shop (.177 and .22).
There is also the 2400 which is the custom shop version of the 2250.

The 2300KT with MIM sight and the other goodies comes to $154.84 in the Cros Custom Shop ;D

The 2300KT (Custom Shop) will not have the power adjuster (not an issue IMO) or the extended bolt. That said, I would (read will) order from the custom shop gun and either buy an after market bolt or buy a 2300s bolt from Crosman. If you can find a 2300s on sale you might be able to get it a little cheaper. I got mine for $199.00 locally, you can't do the same gun from the Custom Shop for that. All things being equal, I think the Custom Shop is a better deal.
The 2300KT configured as close as possible to the 2300s is $185.06. Add a about $20.00 bolt and your at $205.00. You don't find 2300s's for that price very often.
Don Cothran's stainless steel extended probe bolt is $8.25 + shipping.

MellonAir has an extended bolt for $12.00 and a flow through (my preference) for $18.00. Many many choices here.
