Title: Decibel SPL ratings
Post by: scott400f on September 18, 2012, 03:36:05 AM
I want to continue shooting but tinnitus prevents me from shooting powder. I CC everyday and want to keep fresh with my skills. I have a 2300T right now but would like to step up to a 1701 but inam concerned about the sound levels. I wear custom plugs and muffs for protection.

hi Scot-  are you asking what the db levels are for that gun or how to reduce the levels?

If you tell me how you want it measured...distance from muzzle, weighting on meter, fast/slow sample rate etc, I can measure it for you.  With hearing protection it'll be very quiet.  With a shroud or brake even more so.  It is quieter than a stock 2240 that's for sure.  I shoot mine indoors very comfortably.
