I've ran a pretty good search on this but I'm still unclear. Does anyone know if this sight http://www.archerairguns.com/Rear-Field-Sight-p/aarfsight.htm (http://www.archerairguns.com/Rear-Field-Sight-p/aarfsight.htm) needs modification when used on a 1377 with steel breech? I have ordered a 760 barrel band but I have no idea if it is a late model band or earlier version.
Should work no problem, though it's possible the front sight might need modding. Steve Archer's a nice guy, and if you give him a call he might be able to answer your question regarding the front sight. He's not, in his own words, a pistol guy. That's why he doesn't sell them. RC
I`ve been mithering over this for a week now, Ebay, specialist sites,Mims units, everything i can think of but they are, for me, too expensive. Then it hit me. Over here we have a cheap and cheerful make of gun, SMK, they make a suprisingly nice(I think) underlever called a DB4.It has a standard version with both sights forwrd of the stock. BUT they also do a "deluxe" version too. It has a rear sight way back just above the trigger.Guess what?....it fits on the 11mm scope rail!!!! available as a spare part for.......£10......result, i`m looking for a picture but i can`t really find one,but it`s elevation and windage adjustable just thought you might like a heads up on an alternative to more expensive kit.... :-*
Note.....£10 is about $426 at current exchange rates......... :D ;)
took one off a B3 and made a quick pic, it does fit but the blade seems a bit high
thats what has been reported recently.a higher front sight will be needed
Very nice looking piece there Brutuz. :-*
You know, after I posted I realized the 760 band probably doesn't have a front sight on it so I'm not sure what I will end up doing.
For the price, that rear sight doesn't look too bad. Are the adjustments fine and accurate and would you recommend it?
Just a quick check if it fits, it does fit :-*
Haven't tested it, could be worth a try, but instead of investing in the sight only it could be worth the money to source a cheap B3 incl. the sight ??
you could drill and tap the barrel band and put a screw in it or drill a hole put some glue/epoxy put a peg in the glue shave it down until desire sight in has been reached.for stuff like that i like to use that gasket sealer for automobile windshields thats sticky black stuff can have many different uses

what? ???
That's probably what I will end up doing for now 1377x. I'm hoping to get a TKO for it sometime this winter and I'll have to figure something else out. A red dot might be the ticket too, but I've never even looked through one so I'm not sure I'd like it.
sorry, my attempt at humo(u)r at 10.30pm...... :-[
nothing better than looking through a dot.i look at it as my pupil and shoot both eyes open.i have taken out moving targets like that
now that crosshairs has shown us a great low profile adapter for the weaver and picatinny rail i might have to try out a relex sight, which is a "red dot" without the tube
you had me thinking what the xxxx happened this paper in my pocket is just that colored paper with numbers on it

This works on the Crosman steel breech. I have not put things together yet, but the front sight may need to be lengthened.
This works. And yes, this is a duplicate thread, except for the currency used. Ten pounds equals one hundred sixty ounces.
did the price go up ???
i thought they are $10

You can put a longer set screw on the stock Crosman barrel band and use it as a front sight like I did. Just an idea, I know it's not the best thing to do but it worked for me.
Like this one but longer might work with that Archer rear sight:

I have turned down the top portion of set screws that attach to my LDC's and MB's. You can use different length screws to tweak in desired heights and have a wee bit of adjustability up/down. The trick is to start off with a fairly small diameter screw and only turn the threads off leaving the ability to use an allen wrench to adjust.
Oh, and the Archer IB site will work out that way, but you need to mount in front like the picture above.
arkmaker that sight pin actually started as a set screw ??? then you turned down the threads to make it what it is now ???
looks good if that what you are saying
Yep, that is the easy way to say it!!!!!!!!!!!! Never have mastered the art of "to the point" talking/writing ;D
you actually said it pretty clear! i cant believe it started life as a set screw
look at bigerns pic then look at yours you would not think they are the same part

Ark that's a great idea and it really looks sharp. I like that a lot :-*
Thanks for the ideas guys and those are some great looking shooters.

Brutuz, I was goofing around one night with my 1322 and I put some grease on the front sight then set a BB on there. I made it shoot a lot lower. Maybe a small ball bearing. Try it, you might like it. Won't cost anything to try.

This part isn`t easily available on this side of the pond, it`s only Spare part rather than a multi fit item, I think the extra information given in my thread may be of help to others......
but please, do whatever is best, i`ll just sit in the corner and cry gently into my pint...... :(
:-*
Mark, where can you get the SMK parts from ?
I have had a look and can't see them anywhere.
