Hello,

I recently inherited a Crosman pistol when my dad passed away.  I remember him getting it back in the mid 1970s (not new, from a friend).  At that time, it was missing the front stock/pump assembly.  Sometime in the 90s or early 2000s he sent it to Crosman with a letter explaining his history with it and wondering if they could identify it and possibly repair it.  A few weeks later he got it back in the mail with a nice letter from the Crosman people who had repaired it to working condition - for NO CHARGE!  Couldn't believe it!

Anyway, I'm looking to identify its model name, approximate value, caliber, etc.  I can find no writing on the pistol except for on the right pistol grip is a stamped, circular mark that says CROSMAN ARMS CO around the top of the circle, ROCHESTER NY, around the bottom, and MADE IN U.S.A. and a pellet drawing across the center.

Like, Larry, just shoot the 2240XL.
There is nothing wrong with it as it is.
Too, if you intended to modify the 2240 series, why buy an XL?

If you go to walmart next to that small $10 scope is a $16 scope in a box that looks identical, it's MUCH nicer in it's got adjustable magnification and the forward lens is as big as the rear so much more light...

Most of the weights listed online are the shipping weights not the scope weights... I usually just wing it and buy cheap scopes that have good ratings.

Crosman air pistol - General discussion / UK Law ?

Would it be legal to build a pistol using a 2250 stamped main tube ?
Pistol grips, no shoulder stock, sub 6ft/lbs

I probably have enough parts to assemble a pistol but obviously want to keep it legal, any issues i can always try to swap the 2250 tube for a 2240 tube but i like the idea of a longer tube and adding a 2250 forend to make it look like the old SSP2-250.

Found this NCstar 4x20 on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000R4HSW2?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title.  It is still 4x  but going from a 15 to a 20mm objective is 33% more objective lens and it should let in some more light. It was fairly cheap at $13, comes with 20mm bases, and has a listed weight of 3.35oz.

Also, on my 1377 at about 7yds i am shooting about 1.5in low and I am out of adjustment. Its pouring rain outside so I can go out to stretch the distance. What distance do you commonly zero these at? I was thinking 20 or 25yds?
