Are the trigger groups from a Prod and 1701P the same?

I'm looking at upgrading the trigger in a new 2300T.   In looking at pictures, these frames/trigger groups look to be the same. Are they? If not, is one better than the other?
I'll assume I'll need a new slotted hammer for either as well?

First the hammer.   A slotted hammer, slotted at the top front, is required for the use of rearward located 4-48 screw breeches.

What is needed is a hammer without the wasp-waist profile.

Since your pistol is a 2300T, both features above are needed.

The P-Rod and 1701 grip frame assemblies (GFA) are the same.  Many refer to these as the 1701 GFA - I prefer to called them P-Rod GFA's as their part number is 2220-103, and the P-Rod is model number BP2220.

not sure if anyone is doing the slotted hammers for them
might have to do the way and use jb weld in the waste
another way i have done it is to weld the waste at the bottomthen clean up
the release face i kept cool in a wet rag and more spot built up than continouse welding

It seems your answering allot of my questions lately, Craig. Thanks again.  You've been very helpful in getting my interest going with these cool pistols.  I suspected just what you stated in the trigger groups but thought i would confirm   I've got a Prod type set up from alliance hobby in my 2300S now. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing anything in not ordering a trigger group for a 1701P. ( I'm hooked and want to build a 2240XL or 2300T next. 
So out of curiosity, does a hammer from a P-rod  or 1701P fit into a 2300 series? ( My Kit from Alliance had the hammer included but wondered availability if I tried ordering direct from Crosman.

Mellon has a solid hammer with the notch, but it's mild steel, not hardened.  (I have one or two)

But being mild stee, it could be drilled and tapped for a striker (and countersunk if desired) from the Maximus or CH2009 (SP?).

I was partly wrong in the last post.  My Maximus (disassembled yesterday for upgrading the valve exhaust) has a CH2009 hammer and striker because I upgraded the rifle for a Mrod Gen1 trigger assembly.

That CH2009 striker could be used as previously mentioned.

Now I am wondering if that CH2009 hammer assembly could be installed in a 22xx pistol ........

I cannot find a stock 22XX hammer for dimensions, or my composite constructed hammer at the moment.

Here are the dimensions of the CH2009 hammer, which btw is slabbed:

Diameter - 0.737
Slabbed sides - 0.611
Hammer length - 1.3
Hammer with striker full retracted - 1.386

Another oversight.   Been a troublesome day and too much scurrying about.

The CH2009 hammer is not notched.   I notched the one I installed in the Maximus.

Back to a Mellon solid notched hammer, then drilled and tapped (possibly recessed) for the CH2009 striker.

I have installed the Mellon hammer and used it in its "soft" state.
