Flow-thru vs. extended probe:
The flow-thru will give more access for loading (the only reason I use them)
I don't think there's much difference in performance
You have to make sure the flow-thru port is aligned with the TP......check before breech installation
You have to make sure the flow-thru is not too long and creates too much parasitic transfer volume
You can hollowout the ID of the flow-thru and might help performance
Flow-thru's maybe better in .22 and above cal.
The flow-thru's can seat the pellet consistently maybe better accuracy  ???
The flow-thru's can be harder to get pellet to clear breech screw and TP holes when loading
That's all I know - hth  :)

Was actually thinking about starting a thread... asking about your opinions on extended versus hollow. Good read here... nice summery post Wyo!

In all of my reading on these... couldn't find much saying one was better than the other in performance. Even the Mellon air site... talks about them being pretty much the same.

Doesn't crosman make one/ have one in the 2300s? If they do... is it any good? Am placing a parts order with them fairly soon, right after I order the 2400kt in the next few weeks ... and was thinking of just adding one in with my order. If they do... will it also fit a 1377? Might just get one for that one too... my amazon special 1377 showed up today  :)

was looking for personal opinion, WyoMan you helped me decide what to order, thanks all .

...mine took over 9 weeks. Over 3 months for a power valve. But they are real nice and cost less than others.

YMMV

Short answer is yes, yes, and yes.
The long answer is, it will fit your 2400KT but only if you get it in .177.  The differences between .22 and .177 in both the 22XX's and the 13XX guns is the bolt and barrel and the bolt and barrel must match in caliber.  The 2300S is in .177 so that extended bolt will not work in the .22 guns.

Here is some more food for thought (if you are handy with a file or lathe).

Rich did you ever draw any hard conclusion to your bolt probe experiments.

Successes I can count on one hand with this project;
1) Clover tip probe works and loads pellets smoothly
2) Valve reducer works well increasing shot count by 15 shots per cartridge before drop off
3) A small increase in barrel length sometimes gets you where you need to be!
4) Lots of trigger time!
5) Finally gave my Chrony a workout!
