It's 1" aluminum flat stock. Got it at Home Depot. I bent it using my dining table

OK, I'll check what thicknesses they have here.  Tables and benches work pretty well if you don't have a brake, I've even used my truck's rear bumper to bend/straighten stuff.

Yea, there is a Lowe's about 2 miles away.  Home Depot is all the way across town.
