Shootin the 2289 Backpacker last night in the 10 meter garage range and plowin e'm into a single, 3/4" ragged hole from a sitting (not rested) position.

Only mods are the Crosman F.O. front sight and my trigger work with springs and polishing etc, and using the "peep" end of the stock rear sight..

Nearly stock gun, lightweight and accurate as heck. Sometimes, simpler is better?  ;) :-*

Brian I do have to agree with you that sometimes, simpler is simply better.   :-*

The 2240 box stock competition this month has been a blast for me to shoot.  And since the first of the month I've been shooting my 2240 just about each day.  Pure and easy and a real piece of cake to load pellets, any type of pellets mind you.

Thanks for posting this and giving us all a simple reminder.  :)

I've never wanted something so useless in my life.

Yep
I shot the CAPOF standard comp the other night with the stock peep sight and didn't do half bad (for me). Bone stock 1377 except for the trigger tune.

When I finally put a steel breech on someday (so I can mount a reddot or scope for these old eyes)... I am SO going to miss how easy it is to load now!!
