Nice looking stock mod!

JEBert

Thanks, guys,
I didn't get them aligned as well as I would have liked to so I sanded them some.  The more I sanded, the worse it looked so I stopped.  Don't know if you can tell but the pump handle is the same dark green.
Next, I'm going to do this to black one on my 2289G.  Maybe it will turn out better.
Cheers,

On your next one just remember to measure once and cut three times.   :D  Hmm, that don't sound right does it.

Maybe it is measure three times and cut once.  Yeah, I think that's it.  :)

I took about 3 inches off mine, knowing I woudl add some back with the buttpad assembly thingie.....

The cool thing about choping the stock down is you can use the opportunity to mod it some more.
The stock also suffers another  ergonomic aberration.... the drop at the comb and cheek piece is much too large, esepcially if your using a scope. Cheek piece is easy to add....

Here is a similar mod I did to my P-Rod stock.  Used the Morgan Adjustable Butt Plate and cut a matching aluminum piece to fix to the stock and attached the butt plate to that.

I'm confused :-X  ???

Isn't LOP the distance from buttplate to face of trigger? The average adult shooter requires 13" to 14" are the 1399 stocks setting LOP to 15" to 16"? Mine sure seems shorter than that!

Okay, you've been a member of CAPOF long enough to know that usinz on this here forum are far from average.  :D

And I'm not sure there is even a demographic to describe us.  :P

I once had a boss that didn't much like us using the bandsaw.  He would rather we chopped stuff off with a cutting torch.  I was cutting off about 1/16" using a very slow cut on the bandsaw and he was watching me with his arms folded like he was being impatient for me to get whatever it was welded on a trailer I was working on.  When I finished, he asked me if I had cut it too long to begin with (he was aware that I was too much of a perfectionist).  I was trying to be funny and told him, "Boss, I cut it off three times and it is still too short."
He was NOT amused!
