I am not sold on homemade pellets, unless we are closing in on 'end of days'. Despite periodic lapses in quality control, most commercially produced pellets are going to be more uniform in shape and size.

Would be a great way to recycle pellets out of your pellet trap. I wouldn't have the patience to make even 50 pellets. The price of 56 pounds comes out to roughly $86.00 dollars U.S.

It's a great idea, but, I can buy alot of pellets for $86. And probabaly does not include the shipping to the US. Well, doing that keeps him out of the bars at night.

It might not be cost effective (yet ). That might be the case if one has to start from scratch. If you already have the basics (melting pot, ladle etc.) for casting bullets, fishing weights, (toy soldiers ) you're way over half way there! If you use a pellet trap, you'd be able to re-use that lead. (Bet folks are sayin' "dang, wish I woulda saved those pellets"!) If a person shoots a lot AND the price of lead keeps going up (or the $ gets weaker) it won't be long until making your own pellets WOULD be cost effective! I'm more than a little bit interested in this idea. I can't imagine that someone here in the U.S.A. hasn't been working on this already. This sounds like something the Lee Precision folks would be all over. Flex

would love to have a casting/swaged setup... hell 12 grain in .177 would be most awesome for the .177 PCP  crowd.....  but hell the double molds are almost 300 bucks U.S. prolly more after shipping

Definitely has a place where big bores... particularly "odd" bores, are concerned. Made this one for the .32 pcp. Uses a resized 00 buck and a couple whacks with a hammer to make a bore riding projectile with a sealing band.

Not match grade, but damned effective on milk jugs.
