Can I put a rim on my 1377 with crosman steel breech?

i'm not sure how the 1377 breech is made.   down the road i plan on getting one.    the rim secures on the scope rail, which is i believe  11mm -- 13mm.  i think i gave $82.50 for the rim w/1 mag.  and 1 additional mag.   a little expencive but saves alot of trouble loading pellets.

RIM will only fit the 22XX series of Crosmans, the Benjamin Discovery. and the QB78/79 series rifles. However. with the steel breech, you in effect have the same 11mm rail system, so get that paypal account open!  I switch my RIM back and forth between the 2250 and the 2240, how sweet it is..and I believe you could make it work for .177 and .22 simply by getting the correct size magazines ;) ;) ;)  the mount is the same!!

Looks like the topic took a left turn, but I really want to know (and will keep driving it off track) - Would the RIM also fit the 2400kt?

Hello,

The Disco-Rim series is designed to fit the crosman 2240 long steel breech as well as the Discovery breech . The actual part no for the breech kit used for the design was the 2240
SBPK from Crosman as well as the stock Discovery breech. The mount wraps around the breech which measures 0.745" diameter on my Discovery breech. Tightening the clamp screw squeezes this diameter  The bottom of the moount wraps slightly around the .875" diameter gas tube. The bottom of the mount ends roughly .815" from the top of the breech. The mount is .5" thick and sits flush with the end of the pellet loading area at the vertical step on the breech. (See the pics in the manual)

You can't use the Rim series with an extended bolt probe. Our custom bolt has a wire probe
and the backside that hits the cocking pin has been shortened by about .12" to allow clearance for the mag when the bolt is retracted. The bolt was made for the Discovery but
works on the 2240 breech as well. No bolt is available in .177 only 22.

I hope this provides enough information to answer the question.I am not familiar with the 1377
but if someone can email me a picture or link I'd be happy to give my opinion. Please
post this response. I'd love to chime in on the forum but I am making parts at the moment.

Feel free to contact me if you have more questions

cool
i think i have a 22xx breech
how do i find which breech i have?
i know the crosman site said a steel breech wont fit a phase 1 or 2 because the breech screw location changed but i have a steel breech on a phase 2 and a phase 3 breech on the other a phase 1
once i got to thinking a rim probably isnt the best mod for a 1377 with the pumping and all

I kinda wonder if the difference really just comes down to the .22 bolt/o-ring as being the "difference" between them.  Afterall, they are priced the same in kit form.  Then again, I've been known to be wrong.  :-[

YUP!! Only difference is the bolt, and that is at the very end of the bolt...for a .22 the diameter is a wee bit larger , fitted with larger o-ring , so that it will seal up the .22 cal barrel....  .250" is pretty much the standard diameter for airgun bolts, it's only the "probe " end that's different, usually. With a RIM the back end of bolt is shortened a bit, but that's the only case I'm aware of where that shortening it is required.  BTW, I have a RIM, w/2 mags, in.22 caliber...SCHWEEEET. I can use it on my 2250, and my 2240...beware though, you can go through some pellets with that RIM installed, I mean A LOTTTT !!! :)

Yea I sort of went RIM wild and ordered two of them and six extra cartridges for some serious plinking.

Hopefully they will be here this week and I can get one of them mounted.

I love it...you can change it around from gun to gun, etc,,,I use it mostly on my 2240.. Carl be sure you read the paperwork that comes with it...there's a list in there about which pellets work best as far as not "tipping"....the superdomes work EXCELLENT in mine ;)

I assume you bought both .177 and .22 caliber magazines??

I know that.I am talking about with the RIM set up.Does one operate smoother than the other? You know, less pellet hanging in the breech screw hole and port.

Oh,I been meaning to ask you,are you still using that 760 forearm on your 1377?
