2240 reloading speed

How quickly can you reload your 2240? I already have a 1377 so I'm familiar with the mechanism but it takes a few seconds to get the pellet in the right way. I can't tell front from back from touch so I have to look.

You don`t go for speed in loading a 2240 because if you shoot too fast after a few shots the fps goes down .Thai is caused by the CO2 freezing so to speak your gun you need to shoot slower with a CO2 gun

That skill constantly develops, though some pellets are always hard to discern skirt from head by touch.

Like Larry said takes time to get used to the pellets the bigger size of the .22 does make it easier than the .177

Last few months I have been shooting mostly 2240 guns and after a week it becomes second nature.

You will get it just keep trying/practicing.

It's funny, each of mine are different. Some are best and fastest loaded by pointing down and dropping the pellet into chamber. Others I roll the pellet over the edge of the breech and in front of the probe then point muzzle up and close the bolt. Others I can keep the gun horizontal. But whichever way to figure out , after a while its like second nature.

Pretty darn fast

I do this as a game i load and shoot 10 pellets at two targets and see how fast i can do it. I never really timed myself but i know i'm fast.

After the fifth shot let it sit a minute or so to bring the Co2 pressure back up.

That said, with the 2240, and .22 pellets, angling the pistol down and getting a pellet in the breech, provided you have not blocked it with a scope can be pretty quick if you practice. Being a lefty, I learned with my 13xx & 22xx to hold the breech bolt back with my left thumb and drop the pellet into the breech (and hopefully chamber . . . oh did I mention I have fumble fingers) and then get that bolt closed pretty good. Thats been some time back, a bit out of practice doing it now for "speed" but then again, punching a wadcutter pellet into paper isn't as "time dependent" as punching a pest with two pellets.

Would be a lot faster if the bolt is on the same side as your free hand. Then you could keep your finger on the trigger and just pull the bolt open and drop a pellet in with one hand and fire. Unless you do that fancy loading method where you turn the gun sideways and cock it with the opposite hand. But that works easier on powder burners than it does a 2240.

I grab the bolt with my left index finger, since it's on the wrong side you basically just pull back as it pulls the bolt up naturally...

I use the Crosman pellet pouches on my left hip, after a shot I open the bolt since my left hand is there then grab a pellet and put it in then close the bolt with my left hand, they can be loaded fairly quickly that way with your shooting hand never leaving the grip, especially since the pouch can stay open as long as you walking on fairly flat ground.
