Converting a 1377 into a 2289/1322 hybrid

So i got to thinking about keeping it a .177 due to the fact I've been on pellet buying frenzy lately. So what barrel should i get that would be in the 12" range in .177?

as vertguy said bna(b&a) is a place you can go for a 12" barrel. mellonair,mac-1 are a couple other places. you can get barrels 1"-24" from them. you can even get 26" barrels if you want from crosman

Hmm I'm trying to keep this at a price point so ill stick with the original plan... and then buy another .177. Seems to make the most sense

I'm planning on getting a Doomsday kit and a 2240 to shoot with my son when I buy him a bb gun for xmas. Since I'm planning on getting 2 .22 pellet guns I thought it made since to convert my 1377 to .22 but I also want a different front sight. So my plan is (tell me if this is wrong) To buy a 2289 barrel, fiber optic front sight, a 1322 steel breech and a 2289 barrel band and screw, LPA mim sight. Is there anything else I need? A flat top piston and valve is something I'm thinking about as well.

the steel breech kit will be the 2240 kit because you need the .22 bolt. if you are planning on getting an extended probe or hollow probe bolt then you could even get the 1377 kit it comes with a .177 bolt. the only difference between the two breeches is the bolt
flat top pistons are worth every penny spent. look on ebay accustoms sells a piston will you be flattening your valve? or will you need to buy one?

Getting the 2240 and 2289 is still the plan. I haven't decided what to do mod wise with those yet. I plan on buying the flat top piston and valve. I might play around with making my own later. I'm sticking with converting my 1377 to a 2289/1322 hybrid

i think ac sells a flat top valve, also. they are reasonably priced so was the piston

It depends on how you order it. If it is a kit for the .22 then it should come with a bolt.  As far as I know the only difference is the oring size but I could be wrong. There are much more knowledgeable guys here than me.

If you order the kit (2240SBPK) from Crosman, it will come with a steel bolt (.22cal) and bolt handle (and yes, the tip of the bolt and the O-ring are different for the .22cal and .177cal). To be honest, I'm not thrilled with the bolts and handles that come with the kits. I don't know if the brass bolts are any better but they certainly look nicer . The steel bolts seem to work fine tho.

I'm sure many others have done this too but what I did was disassemble the handle from the brass stock bolt. I tapped the hole for a 8-32 screw (same as on the steel bolt handle). Then, I had a friend rework the brass handle and cut 8-32 threads on it. It's a bit shorter to be sure but still functions just fine (actually kind of nice not to have the bolt handle sticking out so far).

Since then, I've purchased two more steel breech units NOT in the kit mode. You just get the steel breech. I got mine for just under $27 from a shop in Minneapolis. I had to buy a set screw (8-32 x 1/8" for 23 cents) and the stock rear mounting bolt has to be shortened (I bought a new, shorter hex head machine screw for ~45 cents). The forward 4-48 x 1/4" screw is reused. The hole in the rearmost portion of the breech can be plugged with any number of things, if desired. The $8 you save can be directed to buying more pellets .
