First barrel swap 2300kt - anything else worth doing while she's opened up?

Swapping the 10" out barrel and putting a 14" in my stock 2300kt (.22)  - doing the swap to bring the velocity up. It's a short distance ratter so I'm not going to extremes over accuracy or efficiency...although would consider some easy things that are tried and true improvements. Any suggestions?

Maybe a little valve work,  like smoothing and angling the exhaust port. Clean up the tube and get the hammer sliding real good. Those are free and easy. Also I did the bstaley oring mod to my 2300 and with 3 orings increased the shot count atleast 10 good shots. Another cheap mod.

I'm googling and not seeing a good pictorial of the bstaley mod...?

Yep that's it. Thanks 7624452. Simple but effective.  I have a pro-top and disco valve combo in my 2300 so you might have to play with the number of orings but worth the time.

Yes, 7624452 - thanks, that was helpful. Especially the cutaway view detailing the hammer and valve.

Does the 22xx have an adjustable striker? He keeps talking about adjusting the length of the striker as if the length is adjustable...?

the 22xx does not have an adjustable strike but you can buy one for it

This is from a 1701P EVP.  I have this hammer installed in a 2300.

you dont need the hammer pin it wont work in a 2xxx gun just use the stock hammer pin. i made the mistake of getting a couple of those things

So...still unsure I will get this exactly right. Is there a definitive guide/post to doing this for a 22xx model gun? One o-ring? 3? A specific one or just any that will slide in snug and stay in place?

bgmcgee

I couldn't find any specifics but I just grabbed some orings that fit good inside the tube and went from there. I figured I could do no harm to the pistol so what the heck. If it doesn't work no biggie just go back to normal. Anyway isn't this what the mod thing is all about?

Not me! If I tear it down and put it back together over and over I'll eventually screw something up. Or it will start shooting like crap and I will worry I screwed something up  8)

If you have a breech with the rear screw location, you also will not need the acetal pin (#19) as you will need to notch that location to clear the screw.

the acetal goes in the bottom of the hammer but drops thru the top to get to the bottom. it will still be needed to keep the striker from moving
