The 1077 I have now is the second one I own that gives the same problem.
I hear a gas escaping sound the moment I insert a new powerlet. It happens so fast the first few seconds, then calms down, enabling me to shoot around 3 magazines if I don't rest inbetween.
Where can I look for the problem and how can I fix it myself? I will have to post it to someone to fix it and that is too expensive

Check and see if the Co2 is coming out of the barrel are you using pellgun oil, how old is the gun.

Hi Mike.
The gun is almost brand new. I only shot 6-7 canisters through it. It seems the gas is lleaking from inside. I don't see anything to suggest it comes through the barrel.
I don't use Pelgun oil as I can't get one shop in South Africa that sells them. I did buy lubricating Whalter co2 cylinders which I intend to start using. But I must say, I owned a 1740 and it was never lubricated. It still shoots 100% fine after more than 3 years.

It sounds like a valve problem you might have to send it back if it's new. There very easy to work on and the valves are cheap if you need to do so.

I would prefer to do it myself if I can. Shipping both ways will be more than 60% of what I paid for the rifle. Almost then not wort it really

Can someone please show me the part that is likely to cause this problem

Great link.
I joined and asked the question there. Lets see how it goes.
It seems there are not a lot of 1077 owners on this forum?

Rifles seem to get passed over a bit on this forum in my opinion, which makes sense since this is a 'pistol' forum.

I like the 1077, but i dont have one. The reviews i have read pretty much say the 1077 is great, or it stinks because it leaks.

Guess you got a leaky one. PA pays shipping on returns for that kind of thing. Just ask them to email you a return shipping label...

I have a couple of them, but don't shoot them much. The trigger broke on one of them and I replaced it with a new one. No leaks so far. I have one of them, I can check later this afternoon. It has been so long since I have looked at it, that I might need to look at the EVP.

Here that is: http://www.crosman.com/pdf/manuals/1077%20EVP%20&%20PL%204.pdf

That will give you an idea of what you will be getting into once you open it up. I take a picture when I take a cover off, so that I can make sure it goes back together.

Sure, how about that Condor of yours  ;D
Seriously, what do you have on the 22xx line of stuff (or something you might think equal)
But, first I have to dig them out and figure out if they still shoot!

Sorry for the hi-jack.....no back to your regularly scheduled program

I have always loved the 1077 cheap fun and accurate. Very easy to work on.
