So, I cut a one coil of the trigger spring and the trigger is a little better.
Last week I ordered a muzzle brake and a hammer adjustment knob from Dave.
They are great.
I know the 2300S comes with the knob as delivered from Crosman.
Easy to replace. I turned the knob all the way CW and I guess that shuts off all air or prevents hammer from firing.
I turned it 1/4 CCW and it shoots great.
A bonus is now the trigger is basically a hair trigger.
You get your finger near it, it fires.
If I turn the knob one more complete turn CCW the trigger returns to about where it was before I put the knob in the gun.
So here is my question:
I suppose with the knob 1/4 turn CCW the guns uses the most air and will achieve the most speed.
Is that corrrect?
Where do you guys have your knob adjusted to give the the best speed and most number of shots on a cartridge.
Too, the knob seems to move easily.
Sometimes I forget and put my thumb on the knob while retracting the bolt and the knob moves a bit.
I like the knob and the adjustment ability and the pistolo looks great.
Just a few questions.
Stay safe.

The Crosman knob has a set screw to prevent accidental turning. You can try different hammer springs, adjusting the knob for the best and consistent fps, a chrony will be required for that. The tighter the spring, the higher the fps, and the lower the shot count. Crosman hammer springs, weakest to strongest, 2240, 2289, Discovery. If you want the best trigger, get a 1701P grip frame assy, about $38 from Crosman, it does require a gapless hammer though. You can buy one, or fill yours with JB Weld putty.

Interesting to see a picture of a custom shop gun.  I gave mine the nickname of  "Easy Wind" so I guess it will say made for "Easy Wind".  Unless they are smart enough to catch it.
Man, that was close!

There is a Locktite type coating for screws that are adjusted and it keeps them in adjustment while allowing them to be adjusted.  Davio mentioned such a product in one of his posts.
You will need a Chronograph to determine the speed/power you are setting the gun at with the rear power adjuster. (RPA)  They, guns & RPAs are all different.  10 Meter target shooting is low (400fps) and pesting is high (500+fps).(.177)
I assume you do the "bump test" to be sure the gun wont fire by just hitting/dropping it.  Hair triggers are sometimes dangerous.
