Removing the Fill Nozzle Cover From 1701P, 1720T, etc.

I guess it is just me and my frail, decrepit boney fingers but, sometimes I have a difficult time removing the plastic cap from the fill nozzle on my 1720T. I do not think it was that difficult on the 1701P and the cap on my PRod had been loosened a bit as result of TKO making a groove for the TKO.
But the one on my 1720T is a bugger sometimes.
So, I placed a strip of non-skid tape 3/4 of the way around the knob (I don't want to scratch the shroud) and it works like a charm.
It doesn't look bad either:

Great idea!  I too have time that the end cap is a bear to remove.

If it's not broken then modify it!

How about a little, very little, silicone grease on the O-ring and some on the fitting?  It may lessen the friction and allow you to pull it off.   ???

I have the same problem with my ole bony mitts...great idea. I normally just curse a lot and that helps ;)
