I was looking for something other than a 22 case for a hammer spring guide. I found a 3/16 rivet minus the mandrel works really well. The hole for the mandrel centers the spring on screw/bolt/ whatever if you have a homemade pressure adjuster.

A dummy .22lr round with the nose filed off a little works great.

A rivet is long enough but not too long?  Pics to explain?

Sorry, I was not paying attention. I have never felt the need for a hammer spring guide and I have no experience with rivets. If I wanted a guide, I would probably buy one made of delrin.  :)
