I think I'm going to keep it a target pistol... But I have a question... What is the most power any of you have seen come from one of these 1377's?
Somewhere in the 700 fps range, depending on barrel length and pellet weight. Some guys will pump 20 or more times to get those velocities.

Also, regarding lead build up. You need an air pistol cleaning kit, with a rod and brass brush. The lead will get impacted in the groves of the rifling and cleaning pellets or whatever will come out looking clean, but the lead remains. You really need to scrub that barrel at a certain point in order to get all the lead and gunk out. I was amazed at how much crud my barrels were holding for several years before I finally started cleaning them properly.
Black air pistols matter.

I achieved 20 ft lbs. That was using a 21 grain .22 pellet with a 14.5" barrel though. Can't recall the max with a .177 pellet

The best trigger mod is to upgrade to a 1701 trigger group, a nice alternative IMHO is the tko trigger spring it comes with a spring guide available @ tko22.com, I used the tko 1911 trigger with the tko spring guide combo and was really impressed. Not a fan of the .22 casing as a spring guide. I polished and reshaped one made no difference.

Yea, I noticed after a year or two of use that the sear ground a grove into the soft brass shell, so clearly there is a friction point there.

The spring itself is really all you need to lighten up the break, which is cool, because you can just compress it and you are good to go. However, that will only change the poundage at which the trigger breaks and will not effect the take-up, travel, reset, and slop....which are ALL issues with stock 13xx triggers. More sophisticated mods like the 1701 allow you to improve trigger performance in all those areas.

And you'll want to slick up the sear and hammer to get a smooth cocking action as well, which also slightly improves trigger performance. So the trigger thing can be a simple mod, or a rather involved process, depending on how much you want to put into it.

I had noticed the loops of the spring were rubbing on the guides (frame and cover) so I put a notch using a wheel on the Dremel on the sear to keep the spring aligned.  Now the spring is more in-line with the movement so it doesn't bend outward as much and little if any frame/cover contact, so I'm not bothering with any other sort of guide or support.  There is no friction this way, no sliding.  Did this to both my 1377 (PC77).  Here is an idea what it looks like; not much really to see.

I ordered a small spring a guide on ebay from a seller in North Carolina.  I think it was about 10 bucks shipped.  The reason I like the guide is that with the proper size it acts as an overtravel stop.  That wasn't my reasoning for ordering it, but it was a huge bonus as I was about to drill and tap the trigger frame for a small screw adjustment.

All my 13xx/22xx guns have spring kits from AC Customs....Im not into heavy modding and these were just the ticket...good luck
