Hey guys!

Pardon my ignorance regarding some US suppliers, but I just saw that Mellonair is offering SS flow through bolts for 13xx and 22xx airguns:

http://mellonair.myfreesites.net/177-22-bolts

I really wasn't aware of those :-[ . Seems to be a real nice product, at a real good price (18$). Peoples here on the forum made really nice comments on the bolts I recently made (big thanks again!), and also asked if I was to make some more. I sure would, but Mellonair being in the States and me in Canada, and considering shipping costs and custom, and delivery time, wouldn't it be better if you bought your bolts from that guy? (shipping cost is a flat 3$ USPS from him). Not that I don't want to work, at all, but I'm not sure I could be able to offer as good a deal as Mr. Mellon. For everyone's best interest, you may be better off buying from him. However, I WILL make a small batch of bolts and handles (still have some bronze and SS  ;) ).

I don't want to offend anybody, I will not refuse to do custom work, but I just wanted to let you know about that. A few days ago, I got infos on shipping to Colorado, which was 8.36$ in CDN funds (regular post) for a hollow probe bolt, and I guess at least 2-3 weeks delivery time. And the big knob bolt I made for my CDN fellow was priced at 25$ CDN.

Please feel free to comment, either in this thread or by PM.  Administrator/moderator comments very welcome.

Greetings to all!

And Gmac makes them in the UK, there's no copyright nor trade restriction on hollow probes, so glad it's a free world and no commercial restriction on this forum  :)

Thanks for the comment, Brutuz   :) . It's just that I taught it would be cheaper and faster for a person in the US to order from a US supplier.

Customs paperwork is the easy part, when I was in shipping I was told to be as vague as possible on  the paperwork. Believe it or not the more thorough you are may cause a problem. If I were to ship  a stainless steel part out of country, I would put simply stainless steel no more no less. Ask anyone here that I have shipped to out of the US if they ever had an issue getting their package. Another thing is priority and express mailing is a waste of funds, regular mail gets there just as fast at a fraction of the cost. The only benefit of express mail is a tracking number and insurance, but is that really worth $30? With this part. The wait is the killer as well as the cost of shipping.

Thanks for those infos, 1377x :) . As a complement to my first post, here are the rates for shipping a bolt to CO (in CDN $):

airmec I still think you have a viable market for your left hand cocking flow thru bolts as there is no one I know of that offers a bolt like this.

So think about it and if you need a first custom order you can consider me that person.  I will take one left hand cocking flow-thru bolt.  :-*

I think one like you did for your original probe would be just fine.

I like that handle! Sweet

Thanks, airmec original design ;D . Find it a bit long though, I'll shorten it by about 1/4''.
