Hi. I have been looking to buy capsules in the UK. Local shop want .75p each!!  Best branded capsules online seem to be Ramsbottoms.

Any other good suppliers?

If you buy them in bulk from Ramsbottoms cheaper still :-*
Crosmans, start as a hobby, then an obsession...

Never found a better deal than buying 400 at a time direct from Ramsbottom - and paying their 7 quid delivery charge is cheaper than "post free" from their eBay shop - works out at less than 27p each!
If you don't want that in one go then their other prices are pretty good too.
Great company. Fast delivery. Good prices on pellets too. Good customer service. No mucking about.
I have had good service and good prices on pellets and gas from Uttings too.
Can't go far wrong with either.

Yes I have used J Ramsbottom - £35/100 delivered for branded Umarex, about £28 for unbranded.

Any thoughts on unbranded capsules?

ped

I use them and haven't had a problem with them

That's good to hear, may try them next time.

Crosman branded Co2 has a small ammount of silicone lube in the capsule, if I use 2 of the cheap un branded ones at any time, the third capsule I put in will be Crosman, keep those seals lubed  :-*

Is that really true?

I have seen so many conflicting views on that, such as: all capsules contain lube, it's part of the manufacturing process, Crosman are made in the same factory as all the others, how could you get silicone in there when you were filling with CO2, and of course put Pellgun oil on the top of the capsule, and so on, and on.

Is there actually a definitive answer?

ped

not 100% on wether they have lube in and tend to think it's part of the manufacturing process and not intentional
I did read you can get maintenance carts from umarex that have lube in but never tried them
as for pelgun oil I just use hydraulic oil but have been told that motor bike fork oil is or is very similar to Tim macs secret sauce
seen a few recommending silicon oil and to me that's a no no as whilst it's good for seals it can cause galling on metal parts
end of the day imo most motoring oils will be fine only use a drop every over cart

Umarex caps arrived from Ramsbottom. Good deal. I just a bit of oil every 3 caps. Seems to be OK

Quick question. Does anyone have any original and interesting uses for used CO2 capsules?
