 evening all , can anyone give me the size of the stock Hammer spring for the 2240, inner, outer and length please. it was shooting a bit hot and erratic  so I cut it down a bit then a bit more  so you can see what a sh.t I made of it  any help would be  appreciated

I don't know that I even have a stock one laying around!  Just take it down to your local Tractor Supply Company or Orschelns and find a match on the wire diameter, OD, and ID.  Then find one extra long and cut it until you get what you need!  I have a whole box of springs that I got for about $10 in this manner.

I picked up a box of about 75 springs, assorted sizes for just under $5.00 at local Home Depot.  One of them is a fit for the sere spring in my 1377.

Here are the stock Crosman 0.300" diameter springs:

2240/2250/2260 --   0.030" wire, 2.015" long

2300S (with PA)  --   0.028" wire, 1.935" long

1377/1322/2289  --   0.035" wire, 1.950" long

2100/2200          --   0.036" wire, 2.405" long

Discovery            --   0.035" wire, 2.250" long

Maximus              --   0.045" wire, 1.55" long    (this last approximate)

Thanks, Bill!    The Discovery and Maximus need further research, the Discovery is rumored to have been changed.   The only way to clarify is measurement of various age Discoveries or order springs from Crosman.   Parts order invoices show the spring specifications.   I don't know if Crosman customer service can see the specifications when given a part number.
