i just got a 2240 for christmas and see that it has a brass valve! is this the norm? i thought crosman had switched to aluminium. why does the 2240 still have brass and all the other pumpers get crappy aluminium valves? the serial # says it was made just a couple months ago...

The 2240 valve is different from the 1377 and all the ones I have seen are brass.

Could also have something to do with weight and balance of the pistols??

I believe they are brass because they are a good heat conductor. It will warm up the co2 faster after each shot. Of kept in a warm place. Just a guess though...
